Water-assisted electrocatalytic oxidation of alcohols into valuable chemicals is a promising strategy to circumvent the sluggish kinetics of water oxidation, while also reducing cell voltage and improving energy efficiency. Recently, transition metal (TM)-based catalysts have been investigated for anodic alcohol oxidation, but success has been limited due to competition from the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) within the working regime. In this study, NiCo-based Prussian blue analog (PBA) was electrochemically activated at the anodic potential to produce a Co-Ni(O)OH active catalyst with a nanosheet-like architecture.

Revolutionizing Limb Preservation: A Case Report on Recurrent Fungating Giant Cell Tumor with Encased Radial Artery in the Distal Radius.

Introduction: Giant cell tumor (GCT) of the bone, although benign, poses significant challenges due to its locally aggressive nature and high recurrence rates post-surgical intervention. Among skeletal GCTs, those affecting the distal radius present unique difficulties, especially when fungating masses encase vital structures such as blood vessels.

Case Report: We present a case of a 28-year-old male with a recurring GCT of the distal radius, where limb-preserving surgery was successfully performed despite encasement of the radial artery.

This study assesses program outcomes in patients with major obstetric hemorrhage of 2000 mL or greater.

Methods: A retrospective study of 353 women admitted to The Corniche Hospital between 2018 and 2023 who experienced major obstetric hemorrhage of 2000 mL or greater.

Environmental and economic assessment of mixed plastic waste pelletization in the Gulf Cooperation Council region.

Pelletizing mixed plastic wastes (MPW) has gained interest as an upcycling technology and an alternative to conventional recycling. To investigate its potential, we conducted a cost analysis and life-cycle assessment (LCA) for a conceptual pelletization facility designed to produce 1 kg of pellets per batch of MPW (comprising polyethylene-PE and polypropylene-PP). This work has the following merits: (i) evaluating environmental impact (EI), cost analysis, and mechanical strength based on actual experimental data and its comparison with local and international manufacturers; (ii) enabling the evaluation of LCA impacts of MPW pellets; and (iii) emphasizing the significance of waste management in reducing EIs.

Sarcomatoid Carcinoma of the Small Intestine: A Case Report.

Sarcomatoid carcinoma of the gastrointestinal tract is an extremely rare and aggressive tumor with both epithelial and mesenchymal characteristics, and it typically has a poor prognosis. We report the case of a 74-year-old male diagnosed with sarcomatoid carcinoma of the duodenum. The patient presented with gastrointestinal bleeding and was found to have a vascular tumor in the third part of the duodenum.

Effect of Flaxseed on Pain Relief and Quality of Life in Patients With Mastalgia: A Single Arm Interventional Study.

Objective: Mastalgia, a common complaint among women, denotes breast discomfort that can manifest as cyclical or non-cyclical. Reassurance, mechanical support and various non-pharmacological treatments, like flaxseeds, have been seen to have a good effect in treating mastalgia. Thus, the aim of this study was to investigates the efficacy of flaxseed in alleviating pain associated with mastalgia and its impact on the overall health-related quality of life among female patients.

Effect of simulation based workshop on changing faculty perception for simulation-based education.

Objective: To compare the perceptions of participants before and after a one-day workshop on Simulation-based Education. The other objective was to determine the feedback of participants about the one day workshop on Simulation-based Education.

Methods: In March 2023, a one-day workshop on Simulation-Based-Education (SBE) was conducted by the Department of Medical Education of Fazaia Ruth Pfau Medical Education in collaboration with the foreign guest faculty through zoom.

Nitrate-coordinated FeNi(OH) for hydrazine oxidation assisted seawater splitting at the industrial-level current density.

In this study, we developed a nitrate-coordinated iron-nickel hydroxide [N-FeNi(OH)] catalyst for hydrazine oxidation-assisted seawater splitting. Replacement of O evolution by hydrazine oxidation in a two-electrode setup resulted in a cell voltage of 1.20 V at 100 mA cm.

Transitional pain services updates and a novel service for the obstetric population.

Purpose Of Review: This paper is an update of the publications on Transitional Pain Services and explores the viability of a dedicated transitional pain service for women.

Recent Findings: We address common pain pathologies establishing referral criteria, pathways, and effective strategies to decrease chronification of pain during pregnancy.

Summary: This review highlights the importance establishing transitional pain service models at every institution and in particular in obstetric population as pain is normalized by Society during pregnancy.

Introduction In Pakistan, HIV training programs, especially for health professionals working in HIV treatment centers, are limited. Consequently, there is little data about HIV awareness among physicians and allied health workers and how it may affect their care for people living with HIV (PLWH). Recently, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria (GFATM) grant Principal Recipient UNDP engaged an NGO experienced in HIV/AIDS training, on a competitive basis, to develop a training manual and conduct training of all categories of HIV treatment centers staff.

Superior electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution activity of a triply bridged diruthenium(II) complex on a carbon cloth support.

This article describes the structural authentication of a unique triply bridged [1](ClO) and monomeric [2]ClO/[3]ClO. Electrochemical HER on a carbon cloth support demonstrated the superior performance of [1](ClO) with high TON (>10) and its long-term stability. The primary kinetic isotope effect of [1](ClO) revealed the involvement of PCET in the rate-determining step.

Techno-economic and environmental analyses of the pyrolysis of food waste to produce bio-products.

Food waste has become a source of concern as it is generated abundantly worldwide and needs to be valorised into new products. In this study, cucumber, tomato, and carrot wastes were investigated as pyrolysis feedstocks as a single component (cucumber), a binary component mixture (cucumber and tomato), and a ternary component blend (cucumber, tomato, and carrot). Fourteen scenarios were simulated and evaluated based on varying the feedstock blend (single, binary, and tertiary), temperature (300 and 500 °C), and feedstock moisture content (5, 20, and 40%).

Simultaneous determination of bromoxynil and MCPA in commercial samples and raw materials using reversed phase high performance liquid chromatography.

This study encompasses a quick, efficient, repeatable and reproducible analytical method for simultaneous determination of Bromoxynil (3, 5-Dibromo-4-hydroxybenzonitrile) and MCPA (2-methyl-4-chlorophenoxyacetic acid) using RP-HPLC with UV-Detector. Bromoxynil + MCPA is one of the most selective post emergent herbicide formulations for the control of important broad leaf weeds infesting small grains (wheat, barley, oats, rye), conservation reserve program areas and grass grown for seed. Optimum weed control is achieved when Bromoxynil + MCPA is applied to actively growing weed seedlings.

The angiotensin-converting enzyme-2 (ACE-2) alters the pathophysiology of various fatal cardiovascular diseases, including ischemic heart disease, whereas angiotensin 1-7 (Ang 1-7) exerts a wide range of actions. The effects of ischemia-reperfusion (IR) injury include damage to myocardial tissue that initiates protease action, causing cardiac cell death. Angiotensin- II (Ang-II) contributes through the renin-angiotensin system (RAS) to the IR injury, whereas Ang 1-7 paradoxically exerts a protective effect through the same.
