Diode Laser Approach for Excision of Solitary Mucocele.

Oral mucoceles or mucoceles are communal minor salivary gland lesions, and they are clinically categorized by the presence of single or multiple, spherical-shaped fluctuant nodules which are asymptomatic and pain free. Application of diode laser for removal of mucosal lesions in the oral cavity is relatively new and viably better alternative to its precedent methods. The added advantage of using a laser includes lesser bleeding, improved or reduced healing time, and its affinity to melatonin that prevents further or recurrent pigmentation.

Enhancing Gingival Phenotype With Vestibuloplasty and Free Gingival Graft: Improving Maintenance of Regular Oral Hygiene.

This case report describes Clark's technique of vestibuloplasty to treat shallow vestibule and, in addition, the use of free gingival autograft to augment attached gingiva to treat Miller's recession. Vestibuloplasty is performed to deepen a shallow vestibule. Different vestibuloplasty techniques are used to deepen the shallow vestibule by modifying the soft tissue attachment.

A randomized, double-blind, split-mouth controlled clinical trial of systemically administered Lycopene on periodontal health.

Background/purpose: This research aimed to compare the effects of systemically prescribed Lycopene as a monotherapy and as an alternative to scaling and root planing in patients with chronic gingivitis.

Materials And Methods: The participants were randomly assigned to one of two treatment groups: the experimental group (n = 50), which received 10 mg of Lycopene a day for two weeks, or the control group (n = 50) received a placebo for two weeks. For each category, quadrant distribution was randomized, with two quadrants receiving oral prophylaxis (OP) and two quadrants receiving no care (non-OP).
