2-deoxy-2-[F]-fluoro-D-glucose (2-[F]FDG) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) plays a crucial role in the management of lymphoma in different settings, such as staging disease, assessing response to therapy, predicting prognosis, and planning RT. Beside visual analysis, several semiquantitative parameters were introduced to study lymphoma with promising results. These parameters can represent different disease characteristics, like body composition (such as sarcopenic index), dissemination of disease (Dmax), tumor burden (including metabolic tumor volume) and texture features.

Disease burden is a critical determinant of outcomes in CAR-T therapy for B-cell lymphomas, and one of the most widely used techniques for its assessment is Total Metabolic Tumor Volume (TMTV) measured via [F]FDG PET/CT. Biological parameters may further refine the risk profile. We analyzed baseline [F]FDG PET/CT scans from 40 patients treated with CAR-T, using an AI-based automated segmentation algorithm to determine TMTV.

Autism Spectrum disorders (ASD) are diagnosed more often in males than in females, by a ratio of about 3:1; this is likely to be due to a difference in risk burden between the sexes and/or to "compensatory skills" in females, that may delay the diagnosis of ASD. Identifying specific risk factors for ASD in females may be important in facilitating early diagnosis. We investigated whether HLA- class I: -A, -B, -C and class II -DRB1 alleles, which have been suggested to play a role in the development of ASD, can be considered as sex-related risk/protective markers towards the ASD.

Background: Prostate cancer (PCa) is a highly heterogeneous disease, making tailored treatment approaches challenging. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), notably diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) and the derived Apparent Diffusion Coefficient (ADC) maps, plays a crucial role in PCa characterization. In this context, radiomics is a very promising approach able to disclose insights from MRI data.

Background: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by persistent deficits in social communication, social interaction, and restricted behaviors. The importance of early intervention has been widely demonstrated, and developmental trajectories in ASD emphasize the importance of nonverbal communication, such as intransitive gesture production, as a possible positive prognostic factor for language development. The use of technological tools in the therapy of individuals with ASD has also become increasingly important due to their higher engagement and responsiveness to technological objects, such as robots.

Background: Neurophysiological studies recognized that Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is associated with altered patterns of over- and under-connectivity. However, little is known about network organization in children with ASD in the early phases of development and its correlation with the severity of core autistic features.

Methods: The present study aimed at investigating the association between brain connectivity derived from MEG signals and severity of ASD traits measured with different diagnostic clinical scales, in a sample of 16 children with ASD aged 2 to 6 years.

Article Synopsis
  • - This study assessed whether radiomic features from pretreatment [F]FDG PET scans could better predict tumor response and survival in patients with locally advanced cervical cancer after chemoradiotherapy and surgery compared to traditional PET measurements and histopathologic data.
  • - Out of 195 patients analyzed, 67.2% showed no or minimal residual tumors after treatment, while 32.8% had larger residual tumors; further follow-ups indicated a 31.3% recurrence or progression rate, with 20% mortality due to the disease.
  • - Although some conventional and radiomic features were found to differ between responders and nonresponders, the predictive power for survival and response was generally low, with most metrics yielding areas under the curve
