Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to measure the arm and finger dimensions of pregnant women (≥32 weeks gestation) to assess the need for different cuff sizes and identify suitable options for their use in healthcare settings.
  • The research involved collecting data from 450 participants at an Australian hospital, revealing that a small percentage needed larger cuffs and highlighting a positive correlation between body mass index (BMI) and arm shape.
  • The findings suggest that while traditional arm cuffs work for most, some women may require alternatives, and BMI could help identify those with specific arm shapes for future research.
