Thermoplastic fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) reinforcement has a significant advantage over traditional thermosetting FRP reinforcements in that it can be bent on site by heating-softening processing. However, current experimental and theoretical research on the thermal conductivity and heating-softening processing characteristics of thermoplastic FRP reinforcements is quite insufficient. Through heating-softening processing tests, numerical simulation, and theoretical calculation, this study investigated the heating-softening processing time of a thermoplastic glass-fiber-reinforced polypropylene (GFRPP) reinforcement.

Resilience, however, is a crucial protective factor against adverse caregiving outcomes. The study thus aimed to determine the latent classes of resilience among FGs and examine how these classes are related to care burden and psychological distress.

Methods: A total of 246 disabled elderly individuals and their family caregivers were studied using the Resilience Scale and the Distress Thermometer and Problem List. The data analysis employed the actor-partner interdependence model (APIM) method based on structural equation modelling.
Conventional neoadjuvant chemotherapy provides limited benefit for patients with resectable non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Recently, neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy (NCIT) has transformed the perioperative management of NSCLC by priming systemic anti-tumor immunity before surgery, yet it remains ineffective for at least 50% of patients. Through single-cell sequencing analysis of our NCIT cohort, we identify that antigen-presenting cancer-associated fibroblasts (apCAFs) can impede the efficacy of NCIT.

Improving the mental health literacy of older adults can help them recognize mental illness and adopt proactive measures, potentially improving their mental health status and supporting the goal of healthy aging.
Objective: To explore mental health literacy among older adults, providing a foundation for future interventions aimed at improving their mental health literacy.
Existing standardized tests for voice discrimination are based mainly on Indo-European languages, particularly English. However, voice identity perception is influenced by language familiarity, with listeners generally performing better in their native language than in a foreign one. To provide a more accurate and comprehensive assessment of voice discrimination, it is crucial to develop tests tailored to the native language of the test takers.

The MBI-GS9, the 9-item version of the MBI-GS, was formulated based on the MBI-GS and has been used for several years. However, very few studies have systematically tested its psychometric properties, and none have focused on care aides working in nursing homes who are susceptible to burnout.

Recently, a shorter 9-item version of the ProQoL was developed and validated among palliative care workers. The ProQoL-9 consists of three subscales: compassion satisfaction (CS), burnout (BO), and compassion fatigue (CF).

Our developmentally inspired method uses self-organization of human hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells and vascular endothelial cells cultured in a three-dimensional microphysiological system to create vascularized, perfusable tissue constructs that resemble the hematopoietic vascular niche of the human marrow. The microengineered niche is capable of multilineage hematopoiesis and can generate functionally mature human myeloid cells that can intravasate into perfused blood vessels, providing a means to model the mobilization of innate immune cells from the marrow.

This study aimed to (1) assess the prevalence of pathological dissociation in LTC home staff during the COVID-19 pandemic; (2) examine the associations of pathological dissociation with demographic characteristics, mental health, insomnia, and professional quality of life; and (3) examine whether pathological dissociation was sensitive to change following a coherent breathing intervention.
Design: We analyzed data from a pre-post breathing intervention study conducted between January and September 2022.
Background: Parasites secrete and excrete a variety of molecules evolve to help establish and sustain infections within hosts. Parasite adaptation to their host may lead to between-population divergence in these excretory and secretory products (ESPs), but few studies have tested for intraspecific variation in helminth proteomes.
Methods: is a cestode that parasitizes three spined stickleback, .
Many chemotherapies, which are still the main clinical treatment for primary tumors, will induce persistent DNA damage in non-tumor stromal cells, especially cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs), and activate them to secrete senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP). The transition could further result in the formation of tumor immunosuppressive microenvironment and cause drug resistance of neighboring tumor cells. To solve this dilemma, a multi-functional biomimetic drug delivery system (named mPtP@Lipo) was rationally developed by combining CAFs reshaper ginsenoside 20(S)-protopanaxadiol (PPD) and cisplatin prodrug (PtLA) to inhibit tumor progression and the formation of SASP.

The tensile properties of large-tow CFRP rods and plates were investigated in this study. First, the tensile properties of unidirectional CFRP rods and plates were studied, and the test results of the relevant mechanical properties were statistically analyzed.

Lorlatinib is a potent brain-penetrating third-generation anaplastic lymphoma kinase () and c-ros oncogene 1, receptor tyrosine kinase () tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) with broad mutation coverage. Currently, there is a limited evidence regarding the efficacy of lorlatinib as neoadjuvant therapy in locally advanced NSCLC in the presence of rearrangements.

EPI can induce the formation of a unique binding pocket at the 5' side of a human telomeric G-quadruplex (HTG) sequence with four telomeric repeats (Q4), resulting in a nanomolar binding affinity ( approximately 26 nM) with significant fluorescence enhancement upon binding. It is important to understand (1) how EPI binding affects HTG structural stability and (2) how enhanced EPI binding may be achieved through the engineering of the DNA binding pocket.

Although the MBI-GS9 emerged as a derivative of the MBI-GS and has seen extensive use over several years, a comprehensive examination of its psychometric properties has yet to be undertaken.
Methods: This study followed the Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing guidelines to validate the MBI-GS9.
Unidirectional carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) may exhibit significant mechanical softening in the transverse direction at an elevated temperature. While significant transverse compressive stress exists on CFRP due to the clamping force from anchorage, a CFRP cable may exhibit anchorage failure when suffering an accidental fire disaster. The high-temperature resistance of a CFRP cable anchorage is critical, and clarifying the performance deterioration and failure mechanism of a CFRP cable anchorage system at elevated temperature is fundamental for clarifying its fire resistance.
