Worldwide, oocyte donors donate voluntarily or receive varying amounts of money for donation. This raises ethical questions regarding the appropriateness of financial compensation, and the possibility of undue inducement and exploitation of oocyte donors. Are these donors capable of making an independent, well-considered decision? Regarding this matter, it is important to examine aspects such as autonomy-connectedness and self-esteem.

Patients' and Health Care Providers' Opinions on a Supportive Health App During Breast Cancer Treatment: A Qualitative Evaluation.

Background: Health apps are increasingly being used in clinical care and may hold significant theoretical potential. However, they are often implemented in clinical care before any research has been done to confirm actual benefits for patients, physicians, and researchers.

Objective: This study aimed to explore experiences of patients and health care providers with the use of a supportive breast cancer app during the first 6 months following diagnosis, in terms of benefits for clinical practice and research purposes.

[Wide support for oocyte donation and banking in the Netherlands].

Objective: To assess the general consensus on the cryopreservation of oocytes and the introduction of oocyte banking facilities in the Netherlands.

Design: Poll investigation

Method: A poll with the use of an online questionnaire was conducted among nearly 19,000 participants of the Dutch EenVandaag opinion panel in May 2011. The poll results were adjusted to the Dutch population based on data from the Dutch Central Office for Statistics for age, gender, education, marital status, geographical area and political preference (measured according to the lower house elections of 2010).

[Lichen sclerosus and Turner syndrome].

Lichen sclerosus was diagnosed at a young age (19, 22 and 37 years) in three women with Turner syndrome. The oldest of these patients had probably suffered from this disorder for over 20 years. The relatively young age of these three patients is remarkable.

Phase I and pharmacologic study of liposomal lurtotecan, NX 211: urinary excretion predicts hematologic toxicity.

Purpose: To determine the maximum-tolerated and recommended dose, toxicity profile, and pharmacokinetics of the liposomal topoisomerase I inhibitor lurtotecan (NX 211) administered as a 30-minute intravenous infusion once every 3 weeks in cancer patients.

Patients And Methods: NX 211 was administered by peripheral infusion. Dose escalation decisions were based on all toxicities during the first cycle as well as pharmacokinetic parameters.
