However, complex covariations of several climatic factors in the natural environment complicate the interpretation of such experiments and the identification of the causal factors. The main phenolic compounds in the fruits were ellagitannins and anthocyanins, contributing 57% and 42% to the quantified phenolic compounds, respectively.
