Patient perspectives on home-based rehabilitation exercise and general physical activity after total hip arthroplasty: A qualitative study (PHETHAS-2).

Home-based rehabilitation exercise following Total Hip Arthroplasty (THA) shows similar outcomes compared to supervised outpatient rehabilitation exercise. Little is known about patients' experiences with home-based rehabilitation, and this study aimed to investigate how patients perceived home-based rehabilitation exercise and general physical activity after THA, focusing on facilitators and barriers. Semi-structured interviews of qualitative design were conducted with 22 patients who had undergone THA and who had performed home-based rehabilitation exercise.

Background: The quality of the academic workforce is influenced by multi-level interactionist factors yet there is limited research into these influencing factors.

Aim: To investigate relationships between individual characteristics of Australian occupational therapy academics and work-related variables.

Method: An exploratory cross-sectional online survey collected demographic data and used standardized scales including the Turnover Intention Scale, 9-item Utrecht Work Engagement Scale, Work-Life Balance Scale, Role Overload Scale and Self-Defined Burnout Scale.

Traumatic Optic Nerve Sheath Hematoma.

The aim of this report is to present a patient with traumatic optic nerve sheath hematoma (ONSH), a rare diagnosis with high potential for visual sequelae. This case involves a 41-year-old male who presented promptly following blunt trauma to the right eye and orbit that resulted in acute vision loss. Following computed tomography and ophthalmic examination, a diagnosis of ONSH was made and medical therapy with methylprednisolone was initiated.

Neurodegeneration Induced by Anti-IgLON5 Antibodies Studied in Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell-Derived Human Neurons.

Anti-IgLON5 disease is a progressive neurological disorder associated with autoantibodies against a neuronal cell adhesion molecule, IgLON5. In human postmortem brain tissue, the neurodegeneration and accumulation of hyperphosphorylated tau (p-tau) are found. Whether IgLON5 antibodies induce neurodegeneration or neurodegeneration provokes an immune response causing inflammation and antibody formation remains to be elucidated.

Introduction: Limits of stability (LOS) have extensive clinical and rehabilitational value yet no standard consensus on measuring LOS exists. LOS measured using a leaning or a circling protocol is commonly used in research and clinical settings, however differences in protocols and reliability problems exist.

Objective: This study measured LOS using a four-way-leaning test and a circular-leaning test to test which showed larger LOS measurements.

Introduction: Occupational stress and burnout are well-recognised experiences reported by cancer care workers. The aim was to describe the frequency and severity of potential stressors as well as the effectiveness of coping skills of radiation therapists (RTs) and oncology nurses (ONs), which make up the two largest occupational groups in cancer care.
