Embolization of a life-threatening placenta increta hemorrhage with a four-month MRI follow-up.

A 29-year-old woman with partial placenta increta was treated by bilateral uterine artery embolization (UAE) for bleeding with hemorrhagic shock two months after delivery, resulting in permanent hemostasis. The patient underwent a total of three magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations-before UAE and four days and four months after UAE. At four months, MRI showed a fully regenerated uterus with preserved perfusion and complete resolution of residual placental tissue.

Follow-up after radical vaginal trachelectomy (RVT): patients' problems and physicians' difficulties.

Purpose: Patients after radical vaginal trachelectomy (RVT) need specific follow-up treatment because their problems differ from those of other gyneco-oncologic patients. Anatomic changes after surgery complicate examinations. Recognition and treatment of these issues require physician's expertise.

Closure of the cervical os in patients after fertility preserving treatment for early cervical cancer - results of a prospective observational study.

Introduction: Up to 50% of the infants delivered after radical vaginal trachelectomy (RVT) are born prematurely. An effective strategy to reduce this number could be the closure of the cervical os (CCO).

Patients And Methods: Fifteen pregnant patients who had a RVT due to early cervical cancer were included in this prospective case control study.

Serum hepatitis B virus RNA levels as an early predictor of hepatitis B envelope antigen seroconversion during treatment with polymerase inhibitors.

Unlabelled: Hepatitis B envelope antigen (HBeAg) seroconversion represents an endpoint of treatment of chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infections. We have studied whether levels of serum HBV RNA during polymerase inhibitor treatment might be helpful for predicting HBeAg seroconversion. HBV RNA levels were determined in serial serum samples from 62 patients with chronic HBV infection (50 HBeAg positive).
