Background And Objective: Vaccination with the live attenuated measles vaccine is currently recommended two years after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) and generally contraindicated after solid organ transplantation (SOT) due to safety concerns. However, in the last few years new data on the administration of the measles vaccine to HSCT recipients less two years post-transplantation and to SOT recipients have become available. This new data may change current guidelines and practices.

Data on course of disease, to inform clinical management of meningiomas, are sparse. This study reports the clinical characteristics of histologically confirmed meningiomas in childhood cancer survivors (CCS) in the Netherlands.

Aims: The aim of this study isto describe the tolerance and efficacy of compassionate use of ponatinib in a paediatric cohort of patients with Ph+ leukaemias.
Methods: Data from 11 children with chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML) registered to the international registry of childhood chronic myeloid leukaemia and from 3 children with Ph+ acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (Ph+ ALL) treated with ponatinib were collected retrospectively.
The impact on morbidity and mortality of Community Acquired Respiratory Virus (CARV) infections in patients undergoing Allogeneic Hematopoietic Cell Transplant (HCT) is widely studied. Here we give an overview of the current literature on the incidence and chance of progression to severe disease in this highly immune compromised population. We discuss the issue whether it is predominantly direct viral damage that causes clinical deterioration, or that it is in fact the allogeneic immuneresponse to the virus that is most important.

The combination of CAMT and central nervous system abnormalities is uncommon. We describe a case with a homozygous missense MPL gene mutation and polymicrogyria, underdevelopment of the cerebellum, and multiple intracranial hemorrhages.

Pulmonary complications are an important cause for treatment-related morbidity and mortality in hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) in children. The aim of this study was to investigate the yield of our pre-HCT pulmonary screening program. We also describe our management guidelines based on these findings and correlate them with symptomatic lung injury after HCT.

Intraosseous samples can be used for laboratory testing to guide treatment. Many laboratories are reluctant to analyse intraosseous samples, as they frequently block conventional laboratory equipment.

Methods: We identified induction failure, defined by the persistence of leukemic blasts in blood, bone marrow, or any extramedullary site after 4 to 6 weeks of remission-induction therapy, in 1041 of 44,017 patients (2.4%) 0 to 18 years of age with newly diagnosed ALL who were treated by a total of 14 cooperative study groups between 1985 and 2000.
