Pancreatic Choristoma in Omentum in Advanced CA Ovary: A Clinical Puzzle.

Ectopic pancreatic tissue is called pancreatic choristoma or heterotopia of pancreas. It is a rare entity. We present a case of advanced Ca ovary with omental pancreatic choristoma.

Ovarian cancer metastasizes into peritoneum through dissemination of transformed epithelia as multicellular spheroids. Harvested from the malignant ascites of patients, spheroids exhibit startling features of organization typical to homeostatic glandular tissues: lumen surrounded by smoothly contoured and adhered epithelia. Herein, we demonstrate that cells of specific ovarian cancer lines in suspension, aggregate into dysmorphic solid "moruloid" clusters that permit intercellular movement, cell penetration, and interspheroidal coalescence.

Preliminary clinical outcomes of patients treated with vaginal brachytherapy alone using multi-channel vaginal brachytherapy applicator in operated early-stage endometrial cancer.

Background: Recommendations for adjuvant treatment for postoperative, early-stage endometrial cancer varies from observation through vaginal brachytherapy alone to pelvic radiation. While observation alone can lead to recurrence, external radiotherapy has increased morbidity. The aim of this study is to show our results with vaginal brachytherapy alone using a multichannel applicator for treatment of early-stage endometrial cancer.

The association between the upregulated Notch and FSH signaling and ovarian cancer is well documented. However, their signaling has been investigated independently and only in the primary tumor tissues. The aim of this study was to investigate the interactive effects of FSH and Notch signaling on ovarian cancer proliferation, formation, and maintenance of disseminated ovarian cancer cells.
