Background: The Basel Asymptomatic High-Risk Diabetics' Outcome Trial (BARDOT) demonstrated that asymptomatic diabetic patients with an abnormal myocardial perfusion scintigraphy (MPS) were at increased risk of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs) at 2-year follow-up. It remains unclear whether this finding holds true even for a longer follow-up.
Methods: Four hundred patients with type 2 diabetes, neither history nor symptoms of coronary artery disease (CAD), were evaluated clinically and with MPS.
Our study aimed to assess predictors of the stress test technique used and to evaluate the impact of exercise level achieved on risk stratification in patients with asymptomatic type 2 diabetes without a previous coronary artery disease. Little is known whether co-morbidities of these patients predict the stress technique and whether physical performance provides risk stratification: 400 patients underwent clinical evaluation and myocardial perfusion scintigraphy (MPS) using physical or pharmacological stress. Physical patients were divided into 2 groups: achieving <6 and ≥6 METs, respectively.

Aim: To test the effect of ultrasound-guided CVC insertion on CABSI in a hospital-wide setting.
Methods: A four-year prospective cohort study was conducted at a university-affiliated, tertiary care centre.
We prospectively randomized 47 patients with acute ischemic stroke of the middle cerebral artery of less than 24 hours' duration to either adjusted hypervolemic hemodilution or control treatment and followed them up for 90 days. Rapid hemodilution to a target hematocrit of 30-35% as monitored with bedside determinations was achieved by using infusions of dextran 40, venesections, and infusions of additional crystalloid solution when necessary. There was no difference in the death rate between the two treatment groups.

In each trial the animal was first cued with randomly selected orientation, and then presented with a sequence of gratings whose orientations were randomly selected. The animal was required to release a switch when it saw a grating that matched the cued orientation.

The animal had to detect the repetition of a visual pattern (i.e.

Are increasing with age the proportions of home visits (as compared with health center visits), of requests for care coming from the family (rather than the patient), of basic nursing care (hygiene, mobilization) as the major motive for the care request, the number of basic care acts performed and of technical acts such as bladder care (catheter, instillation). Conversely, characteristics the frequency of which decreases with age are for example some technical acts such as injections and taking of blood samples, and proportion of visits after which no control is planned.

At this occasion, some of their personal and professional characteristics were recorded and are analyzed in this paper. Differences appear depending on the home care service, the area of work (urban or predominantly rural), and the canton.
