Objectives: The aim of the present study is to test the network analysis method on a corpus of media texts with the aim of systematically analysing media representations of dementia in the Slovak media.

Methods: A word-network was modelled from the corpus of media documents using social network analysis. 244 text-documents (web, print, TV and radio) from 2015 to 2018 (inclusive) were retrieved from the Newton media database using the search words 'dementia' and 'Alzheimer's disease'.

New taxonomic data for species belonging to Chamberlin & Ivie, 1942 and Simon, 1864 occurring in the Caucasus, Middle East and Central Asia are provided. Three species are described as new to science: (♂♀, northwestern, central and southwestern Iran), (♂♀, southwestern Iran, eastern Kazakhstan and northern India) and (♂♀, central Iran). (Brignoli, 1983) is removed from the synonymy of (Bakhvalov, 1978), redescribed and recorded from Iran and Turkmenistan for the first time.

The list of all known locality and host records from the literature on louse flies from Slovakia are summarized, with the addition of new collection data. New locality data are provided for five species. Three species are added to the Slovakian list: (Bigot in Thomson, 1858), which was erroneously cited for Moravia instead of Slovakia in the previous checklist, and (Schiner, 1864) and (Bergroth, 1901), which were overlooked from the last checklist.
