Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the interchangeability of infrared forehead, digital axillary, and infrared tympanic thermometers while identifying the most reliable non-invasive body temperature measurement method in paediatric settings.

Design And Methods: A multicentre observational study was conducted enrolling all children less than or equal to 14 years of age requiring a temperature measurement and after obtaining their parent's informed consent. Socio-demographic characteristics and temperature values in Celsius (°C) were simultaneously collected using forehead, axillary, and tympanic thermometers.

Objective: The paper provides a description of available measurement tools which are able to adequately assess acute chronic pain in Down Syndrome (DS) patients, regardless of their age and cognitive impairment.

Methods: Papers referring to DS patients were sought using different databases, such as PubMed, CINAHL, Scopus, Web of Science (ISI) and Cochrane, with no limit of time and published up to October 2017. All validated tools applicable to DS patients were included in the search, which consisted of papers published both in English and Italian.

Axillary digital thermometers (ADTs) and non-contact (infrared) forehead thermometers (NCIFTs) are commonly used in pediatric settings, where an incorrect body temperature measurement may delay treatments or lead to incorrect diagnoses and therapies. Several studies comparing ADT or NCIFT with other methods have found conflicting results. The main objective of the study is assessing knowledge, opinions and compliance with the procedures of health professionals (physician, nurses, medical and nursing students) about Hand Hygiene (HH). There is a number of research which indicates that physicians respect less than nurses Hand Hygiene, there are a smaller number which investigates the differences in the attitude of the aforementioned subjects during their studies. A questionnaire was administered to a sample of 756 participants (252 doctors, 268 nurses, 117 nursing students and 119 students of medicine) at a large University Hospital in Rome, to determine their knowledge, compliance and procedures with Hand Hygiene.

The intent of the article, dedicated to a series (Prof Inf, 4,2005:229-235 e 236-245) of what nurses write, two European Nursing journals are analysed by categorizing nursing research and non research articles comparing with two Italian refereed Nursing Journals. Results show a tendency of a prevalence of nursing research articles (quantitative and qualitative methods) for all categories in those European (J. Nurs Manag and J Adv Nurs) compared with a prevalence of non research articles in the two Italian refereed Nursing journals.

This article analyzes the Italian scientific Nursing production published on five National Nursing Journals from 1978 to 2003 it is the second part of the article in the antecedents pages. Results are showing that the Nursing literature production as it appears from dedicated Journals, is following a constant development. Of course each Journal has its own characteristics and specificity but in general more articles than in the past (1978-1998) are presenting research methodology discussions and reports of research conducted in the Nursing field.

This is the result of a revision of what Italian nurses have written from 1978 to 1997 in Nursing Journals. Four well known Nursing Journals have been selected and taken into consideration: two are the only nursing refereed journals in the Country (one is a nursing Association official journal), one is the official journal of the National nursing Statutory Body and one is a specialty nursing Group journal. Articles has been divided into seven categories and results show that Italian nurses lack in the continuity of writing.
