Disease patterns of microbial keratitis in Singapore: A retrospective case series.

Purpose: To investigate the disease patterns of Microbial Keratitis(MK) in patients seen in a tertiary referral hospital, to evaluate the clinical outcomes of MK and the risk factors for poorer visual outcomes.

Methods: This is a retrospective case series of all culture-positive corneal scrapings between April 2012 and October 2016. A total of 230 patients(n = 230) were included into this study.

Clinical Applications and Validation of an Innovative Wound Score.

Objective: This study demonstrates the applicability of an innovative wound score that summates 5 assessments using 2-point (best) to 0-point (worst) grades based on specific findings to generate a 0- to 10-point wound score for categorizing diabetic foot ulcers as well as validates its effectiveness.

Materials And Methods: Long Beach Wound Scores (LBWS) were determined prospectively over an 18-month period in 105 hospitalized patients, with or without diabetes, with lower extremity wounds. Wounds were categorized as healthy, problem, or end-stage from their initial LBWS.

Optical and Tectonic Corneal Transplant Outcomes in a Tertiary Hospital in Singapore within the Singapore Corneal Transplant Registry.

Introduction: This study aimed to describe and compare corneal graft survival and optical outcomes following deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK) and Descemet's stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK) with penetrating keratoplasty (PK), and to document tectonic success of patch grafts.

Materials And Methods: This was a retrospective, non-randomised, comparative and descriptive cohort study. A total of 139 eyes that underwent primary keratoplasty between 2000 and 2016 were included, and the following data was extracted: demographics, clinical diagnosis and primary indication, pre- and intraoperative risk factors, postkeratoplasty outcomes, and complications.

Bullous Variant of Central Serous Chorioretinopathy: Expansion of Phenotypic Features Using Multimethod Imaging.

Purpose: To define the phenotypic characteristics of the bullous variant of central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC) using multimethod imaging.

Design: Retrospective, observational case series.

Participants: Twenty-one eyes of 14 patients with bullous retinal detachment resulting from CSC (bullous CSC group) and 122 eyes of 84 patients with chronic CSC without bullous retinal detachment (nonbullous CSC group).

Micropulse versus continuous wave transscleral diode cyclophotocoagulation in refractory glaucoma: a randomized exploratory study.

Background: The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy and safety of micropulse and continuous wave diode transscleral cyclophotocoagulation in refractory glaucoma.

Design: Randomized, comparative, exploratory study in a tertiary hospital setting.

Participants: Patients with refractory, end-stage glaucoma.

Objective: To analyze the demographics, risk factors, and clinical and microbiological characteristics of triple infection keratitis.

Design: Retrospective case series.

Participants: Five patients (five eyes) with triple infection keratitis were identified.

Background: To evaluate different mechanisms of primary angle closure and to quantify anterior chamber parameters in these mechanisms using anterior segment optical coherence tomography in an Asian population.

Participants: Forty-eight consecutive patients with primary angle closure glaucoma.

Micropulse transscleral diode laser cyclophotocoagulation in the treatment of refractory glaucoma.

Background: Transscleral diode laser cyclophotocoagulation (TSCPC) is an established method of treatment for refractory glaucoma, but is associated with significant complications. This study evaluates the efficacy and safety of a new form of TSCPC using micropulse diode laser and trans-pars plana treatment with a novel contact probe.

Methods: Prospective interventional case series of 40 eyes of 38 consecutive patients with refractory glaucoma treated with micropulse TSCPC with a novel probe.

Epiblepharon in East asian patients: the singapore experience.

Purpose: To describe the demographics, presenting symptoms, indications for surgery, and surgical outcomes of epiblepharon correction in a tertiary care hospital in Singapore.

Design: Retrospective review of patients who underwent surgery by 2 surgeons in a referral oculoplastic practice at the National University Health System, Singapore, from 2001 to 2007.

Participants: A total of 108 patients who underwent surgery for clinically significant epiblepharon.

Outcomes following acute primary angle closure in an Asian population.

Background: Data regarding development of primary angle closure glaucoma (PACG) following acute primary angle closure (APAC) is conflicting. This study looks at outcomes after an APAC episode with a secondary aim to identify any risk factors that could predict progression to PACG.

Methods: This is a retrospective review of the charts of consecutive patients who were diagnosed with APAC from December 2003 to June 2006.
