Long-term impact of COVID-19 associated acute respiratory distress syndrome.

Objectives: To determine the health status, exercise capacity, and health related quality of life (HRQoL) of COVID-19 associated acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) survivors, 8 months after diagnosis.

Methods: All eligible patients were interviewed and underwent a physical examination, chest X-ray, and 6 min walk test (6MWT). Scales to evaluate post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, and HRQoL were applied.

Epidemiology, antibiotic therapy and outcomes of bacteremia caused by drug-resistant ESKAPE pathogens in cancer patients.

Purpose: Infection due to the six ESKAPE pathogens has recently been identified as a serious emerging problem. However, there is still a lack of information on bacteremia caused by these organisms in cancer patients. We aimed to assess the epidemiology, antibiotic therapy and outcomes of bacteremia due to drug-resistant ESKAPE pathogens (rESKAPE) in patients with cancer.

Thyroid status and functional and cognitive status at baseline and survival after 3 years of follow-up: the OCTABAIX study.

Objective: Subclinical thyroid disorders are common in older individuals. Health risks associated with subclinical hypothyroidism in older adults are unclear. The aim of the study is to evaluate whether thyroid status in elderly subjects correlates with physical and cognitive function at baseline and with 3-year mortality.
