Retin Cases Brief Rep
November 2014
Background: Congenital simple hamartoma of the retinal pigment epithelium (CSHRPE) is a rare tumor that, to our knowledge, has not been previously reported as being associated with a full-thickness macular hole.
Methods: We report a case of a CSHRPE associated with a full-thickness macular hole. Findings of funduscopy and optical coherence tomography are described.
Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of photodynamic therapy (PDT) with verteporfin combined with intravitreal triamcinolone (TA) in retinal angiomatous proliferation (RAP).
Design: Retrospective, consecutive, noncomparative case series.
Methods: Patients newly diagnosed with RAP underwent indocyanine green angiography (ICGA)-guided PDT with verteporfin, immediately followed by intravitreal TA.
Objective: To assess if posterior juxtascleral application of 40 mg triamcinolone acetonide (TA), given at the same time as initial photodynamic therapy (PDT) for predominantly classic choroidal neovascularization (CNV) related to age-related macular degeneration affects lesion growth at 3 and 6 months.
Design: Comparative (nonrandomized) interventional study.
Participants: The study group consists of 38 eyes of 38 patients.
Purpose: To evaluate the anatomical and visual outcome in macular hole patients who underwent surgery with infracyanine green-assisted internal limiting membrane peeling.
Design: A prospective case series with 51 consecutive eyes of 49 patients with idiopathic, iatrogenic, or traumatic Stage 2, 3, or 4 macular holes.
Methods: After removing the vitreous, in all eyes infracyanine green-assisted removal of the internal limiting membrane was performed.
