Breast concerns commonly occur in the outpatient setting and predominantly consist of breast pain, nipple discharge, and breast masses. Many of these concerns can be treated with reassurance and reevaluation, but not if the patient has risk factors for an underlying pathology. This article reviews the diagnosis and treatment of the three most common breast concerns encountered in primary care practices.

Objectives: To investigate the relationship of other body mass index (BMI) ranges with Homeostasis Model Assessment-Insulin Resistance (HOMA-IR), a surrogate marker for insulin resistance in adolescents.

Study Design: Cross-sectional analysis of a nationally representative sample of 1837 nondiabetic, nonpregnant 12 to 19 year old persons from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, 1999-2002. The main outcome measurement of insulin resistance was calculated as HOMA-IR > 3.

Introduction: Results from previous studies evaluating the effect of nail polish on oxygen saturation (SpO(2)) determined by pulse oximeter monitors are inconsistent. Establishing the effect of nail polish on SpO(2) is relevant to clinical practice, since removing nail polish requires clinical time and supplies.

Objective: The objective of this study was to determine if fingernail polish affects SpO(2) as measured by two different pulse oximeter machines.
