Imaging primary cardiac angiosarcoma: case-based illustrations with multimodality imaging and emphasis on the role of positron emission tomography-CT.

Primary cardiac angiosarcomas are extremely rare, highly aggressive tumours with rapid progression and high metastatic capability. More than 60% of tumours are detected after the onset of a metastatic disease. In the two cases presented, we demonstrate the role of muti-modality imaging in the diagnosis of the lesion and provide valuable input in prognosticating the disease burden.

Selective blockade of IL-21 by myricetin impedes T follicular helper cell differentiation by negatively regulating the JAK/STAT/Bcl-6 pathway in a rheumatoid arthritis animal model.

Unlabelled: Interleukin (IL)-21 is a major lineage-defining factor that promotes Tfh cell differentiation. The current study investigated the molecular basis of myricetin, a flavonoid that impedes IL-21-mediated differentiation of Tfh cells in RA. Through high-throughput virtual screening of natural compounds that inhibit IL-21, we found that myricetin binds to IL-21 and hampers its interaction with IL-21 receptor (IL-21R).

The long-term effects of COVID-19 on pulmonary status and quality of life.

Background: Few studies have looked at how SARS-CoV-2 affects pulmonary function, exercise capacity, and health-related quality of life over time. The purpose of this study was to evaluate these characteristics in post COVID-19 subjects 1 year after recovery.

Recently, choline kinase (ChoKα) has been reported to be an essential enzyme aiding RA-FLS hyperproliferation by altering phosphatidylcholine biosynthesis.

From Diagnosis to Treatment: Navigating the Clinical Challenges of Dialyzer-Associated Thrombocytopenia.

Thrombocytopenia is a common lab finding. The two fundamental groups are lack of production versus overconsumption of platelets. When common causes of thrombocytopenia have been ruled out and less common causes, such as thrombotic microangiopathic conditions, have been considered, it is important to keep in mind that patients undergoing dialysis may develop thrombocytopenia from the dialyzer itself.
