Aim: The aim is to evaluate the impact of denture prostheses on cognitive functioning in completely edentulous patients using a novel cognitive assessment tool.

Methods: Thirty (n=30) completely edentulous patients of age groups above 60 years were taken in the present study group. Pre- and post-cognitive assessments were done on the patients using a novel cognitive assessment tool, Dental Cognitive Functioning Assessment Tool (DCFAT).

Background: Tooth extraction is generally accompanied by bone remodeling and pneumatization of the maxillary sinus in the posterior region of the maxilla, which can result in a reduction in the height and width of the bone and compromise the placement of the implant. However, this anatomic deficiency can be restored through maxillary sinus elevation. Among the various surgical methods used, the indirect sinus floor elevation technique is relatively less invasive and less complex.

Nasal prosthesis with magnetically secured intranasal framework for a patient with partial rhinectomy and intraoral defects: A case report.

The scenario becomes even more difficult when there is an intraoral defect. This article describes the fabrication of a removable silicone nasal prosthesis and removable PMMA intraoral obturator prosthesis to rehabilitate a patient following partial rhinectomy with associated loss of premaxilla.

A comparative study on the relationship between inter alar width, and inter commissural width on circumferential arc width of maxillary anterior teeth in different age groups.

This study was done to determine the relationship between interalar width and inter commissural width on circumferential arc width of maxillary anterior teeth in dentulous subjects between the age groups of 20-50 years. The study involved 300 subjects, in whom measurements were made from the distal aspect of each maxillary canine, across the facial surfaces of the six anterior teeth, using brass wire and a Vernier calliper. Interalar and inter commissural width were recorded after placing two points and measured with a Vernier calliper.

Diagnosis and management of occlusal wear: a case report.

The rationale for doing full mouth rehabilitation are, when occlusal forces become traumatic hampering the health of periodontal tissues, extensive occlusal diseases, trauma, temporomandibular joint disease and congenital disorders with malformed dentition. Literature exposes that full mouth fixed rehabilitation is one of the taxing procedures in the field of Prosthodontics. A critical aspect for successful occlusal rehabilitation is to determine the aetiology, correct sequence of treatment and most importantly the occlusal vertical dimension and centric relation in which to plan the treatment.

Complete mucostatic impression: a new attempt.

Hypermobile ridges or flabby edentulous ridges are a common occurrence in edentulous patients. The literature reveals that the mucostatic impression technique is one of the treatment options in this scenario. Conventional mucostatic methods like employing a window tray technique, multiple relief holes, or double spacers can be employed when the flabby tissue is localized.

Prosthetic rehabilitation of postsurgical nasomaxillary hypoplasia for a patient following reconstructive surgery: a clinical report.

Repairs of the cleft nose, lip, and palatal deformity remain challenging endeavors for reconstructive surgeons. Postsurgical nasomaxillary hypoplasia is a common finding in patients with extensive clefts. This complex deformity has a pronounced impact on the social behavior and self image of the subject.
