Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates chitosan nanoparticles derived from Nyctanthes arbor-tristis leaves as a potential treatment for aggressive gynecological tumors, aiming to reduce the side effects of conventional therapies.
  • The nanoparticles were thoroughly characterized and showed efficacy against breast and ovarian cancer cells, demonstrating dose-dependent cytotoxicity and the ability to induce apoptosis.
  • In vivo tests on zebrafish indicated low toxicity for the nanoparticles, suggesting they could be a promising new option for cancer treatment in women.

Solar Fenton is an important and extensively used advanced oxidation process (AOP) to degrade pharmaceutical pollutants. The objective of this study was to evaluate the performance of simultaneous degradation of the mixed pollutants (amoxicillin, acetaminophen, and ciprofloxacin) for an aqueous solution using the solar Fenton process. Operating parameters such as pH, iron doses, HO doses, pollutant concentrations, and time were studied.

Background: Blood-borne pathogens (BBPs) are infectious microorganisms that are found in human blood and can cause diseases in humans. Health care workers such as physicians, surgeons, nurses, dentists, dental students, dental assistants, laboratory technicians, personnel handling infectious waste, and other health care employees are at increased risk of exposure to these pathogens. Percutaneous injuries from needles or other sharp objects are the major sources of BBPs in the workplace.
