Objectives: Falcataria moluccana, known locally as Sengon, is a fast-growing legume tree that is commonly planted in community forests of Java Island, Indonesia. However, the plantations face attacks of Boktor stem borer (Xystrocera festiva) and gall-rust disease (Uromycladium falcatariae) as major threats to its productivity. To control those pest and disease, it is necessary to grow resistant sengon clones, which are developed through tree improvement program, of which needs genetic and genomic information.

We present studies of protein (insulin) efflux rates from nano-sized core-shell systems with a gelled core and a lipid bilayer (nanolipogels). The efflux control mechanism is the manipulation of mesh size, and we show that diffusion control crosslinking is the dominant mechanism for efflux control. The concept is inspired by the macromolecular crowding effect in human cells, which may be considered as a physical network of undefined mesh size.

Two straightforward methods for recovering the current-voltage characteristic of an electrical probe are proposed. Basically, they consist of replacing the usual power supply from the probe circuit with a capacitor which can be charged or discharged by the probe current drained from the plasma. The experiment requires the registration of only one time-dependent electrical parameter, either the probe current or the probe voltage.
