Prevalence and risk factors of long covid and its associated adverse work outcomes among workers in the manufacturing sector in Malaysia - a mixed-methods study protocol.

Background: The manufacturing sector in Malaysia has been severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. This is further exacerbated by Long COVID-19 symptoms among the manufacturing workers, which are proven to influence work performance and quality of life. Of note, there is currently a lack of knowledge regarding the burden of Long COVID-19 in the Malaysian manufacturing sector.

Reducing work-related musculoskeletal symptoms through implementation of Kiken Yochi training intervention approach.

Background: Work tasks in pineapple plantations in Malaysia are characterised by non-ergonomic work postures, repetitive tasks, awkward posture and manual handling of work tools that contribute to the reporting of musculoskeletal symptoms (MSS). There have been very limited studies performed among pineapple plantation workers focusing on ergonomic intervention programs to specifically reduce MSS.

Objective: The aim of this study was to assess the effects of work improvement module using a Kiken Yochi participatory approach intervention in reducing MSS among male migrant pineapple farm plantation workers in Pontian, Johor.

Objective: This paper primarily aimed to review articles which specifically quantified the risk of electronic cigarette's (e-cigarette) usage via the health risk assessment (HRA) approach.

Methods: Systematic literature searches were conducted using PubMed search engine databases. Search terms such as "electronic cigarette", "e-cigarette", "electronic nicotine delivery systems", "electronic cigarette liquid", "electronic cigarette vapors", and "health risk assessment" were used to identify the relevant articles to be included in this review.

Implementation of smoke-free legislation in Malaysia: are adolescents protected from respiratory health effects?

Background: This study aimed to examine the relationship between respiratory health of Malaysian adolescents with secondhand smoke (SHS) exposure and smoke-free legislation (SFL) implementation.

Materials And Methods: A total of 898 students from 21 schools across comprehensive- and partial-SFL states were recruited. SHS exposures and respiratory symptoms were assessed via questionnaire.

Cutaneous larva migrans: a neglected disease and possible association with the use of long socks.

Cutaneous larva migrans is a common parasitic skin disease that can be easily prevented by wearing 'protective' footwear. However, this has been under-emphasized in terms of what constitutes the protective footwear. Even though the disease resolves spontaneously, the significant duration of the disease along with severity of pruritus make treatment unavoidable.

A multimodal, evidence-based approach to achieve lipid targets in the treatment of antiretroviral-associated dyslipidemia: case report and review of the literature.

Metabolic abnormalities associated with the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection are well-recognized problems that increase cardiovascular risk. As a result of the complexity of treating both HIV- and antiretroviral-related comorbidities, strategies that improve adverse drug events while maintaining viral control are in critical need. Although guidelines have somewhat helped in the general approach and in first-line strategies for managing dyslipidemia in patients receiving antiretrovirals, a paucity of data exist to guide clinicians in treating patients whose conditions are refractory to first-line options or who are at substantial risk for cardiovascular events.

Multicenter evaluation of vancomycin dosing: emphasis on obesity.

Background: There is a paucity of data available regarding the dosing of antimicrobials in obesity. However, data are available demonstrating that vancomycin should be dosed on the basis of actual body weight.

Methods: This study was conducted at 2 tertiary care medical centers that did not have pharmacy-guided vancomycin dosing programs or other institutional vancomycin dosing policies or protocols.

Lipid-lowering efficacy and safety after switching to atazanavir-ritonavir-based highly active antiretroviral therapy in patients with human immunodeficiency virus.

Study Objective: To evaluate the efficacy, safety, and lipid-lowering effects after switching from a non-atazanavir-containing, protease inhibitor-based highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) to atazanavir-ritonavir-based HAART in patients infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

Design: Multicenter, noncontrolled, retrospective study.

Setting: Three tertiary teaching hospitals.
