Intramyometrial Pregnancy Presenting as Abnormal Uterine Bleeding in Perimenopausal Female.

Abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) is frequently encountered in the gynecological complaint of perimenopausal female visiting the outpatient department. Beginning in mid-40s, perimenopause is often marked with menstrual irregularities. Intramyometrial pregnancy (IMP) is a rare type of ectopic pregnancy with an incidence of <1% of all ectopic gestation may present as AUB in perimenopausal female.

Comparison of Outcome of Normal and High-Risk Pregnancies Based Upon Cerebroplacental Ratio Assessed by Doppler Studies.

Objectives: To evaluate the cerebroplacental ratio which is the ratio of pulsatility index of fetal middle cerebral and umbilical arteries, in normal and high-risk pregnancies during 30-36 weeks of gestation.

Methods: In this study, we included 70 patients, who were scanned for Doppler parameters of Middle cerebral artery and Umbilical artery pulsatility index ratio of fetus, between 30 and 36 weeks, and then were followed till delivery. Thirty-five patients with normal pregnancy and 35 patients with high-risk pregnancy were included.

Laparoscopic management of tumor in supernumerary ovary.

Laparoscopic management of most of the adnexal masses has become feasible in the present era of advancing endoscopic techniques. A postmenopausal lady presented with lump in the abdomen, appeared to be a solid ovarian mass on ultrasound, and magnetic resonance imaging. On laparoscopy, both the ovaries were normal and the mass was not connected to uterus or adnexa.

A randomized trial of vaginal misoprostol for cervical priming before hysteroscopy in postmenopausal women.

Objective: To perform hysteroscopy the cervix needs to be dilated and in nullipara and postmenopausal women this is sometimes difficult. Well-known, entry-related complications during hysteroscopy include cervical tear, creation of false tract, bleeding, uterine perforation, scarring, and subsequent anatomical stenosis.

Materials And Methods: This study was done to investigate the priming effect of vaginal misoprostol on cervical dilatation in postmenopausal women, before hysteroscopy, to prevent such complications.
