Unlabelled: A 57-year-old male with heart failure and decompensated alcoholic liver cirrhosis presented with recurrent haematochesia due to rectal varices. After multiple failed therapy with endoscopic band ligation and surgical sclerotherapy, a discussion with an interventional radiologist was arranged. A transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) was deferred due to a history of heart failure.

Traumatic arteriovenous (AV) fistulas from blunt, non-penetrating injuries are uncommon and rarely described in medical literature. A CT followed by pelvic angiogram performed by interventional radiology revealed a traumatic fistula which was then treated by embolization.

Acute cholecystitis is associated in vast majority of the cases with cystic duct obstruction. The demonstration of presence (cystic duct patency) or absence (cystic duct obstruction) of visualization of the gallbladder on cholescintigraphy is critical to the diagnosis of acute cholecystitis.
