Near-miss traffic risk estimation using Extreme Value Theory (EVT) models within a real-time framework offers a promising alternative to traditional historical crash-based methods. However, current approaches often lack comprehensive analysis that integrates diverse roadway geometries, crash patterns, and two-dimensional (2D) vehicle dynamics, limiting both their accuracy and generalizability. This study addresses these gaps by employing a high-fidelity, 2D time-to-collision (TTC) near-miss indicator derived from autonomous vehicle (AV) sensor data.

Background: Subcutaneous emphysema related to dental procedures is well documented in literature. It usually occurs during or within minutes to hours after dental treatment and can be easily diagnosed by the presence of crepitus on palpation. Although it is self-limiting, it can develop to potentially life-threatening complications.

In contrast to earlier co-pyrolysis research that concentrated on increasing product yield, this study comprehends the synergistic effects of two distinct feedstocks that were not considered earlier. This work focuses on co-pyrolyzing wheat straw (WS) with non-reusable polyethylene terephthalate (PET) for the production of pyrolysis oil.

Understanding the glass transition temperature () of polymers is critical to prevent operational failures at specific temperatures. Traditional methods for measuring , such as differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and dynamic mechanical analysis, while accurate, are often time-consuming, costly, and susceptible to inaccuracies due to random and uncertain factors.

However, recent advancements, particularly the Baveno VII criteria and the utilization of transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS), have illuminated the concept of hepatic recompensation. In this editorial we comment on the article by Gao published in the recent issue.

Methods: Forty patients indicated for maxillary ridge splitting and simultaneous implant placement were assigned randomly to the study groups: control group (Platelet Rich Fibrin membrane) and test group (Platelet Rich Fibrin membrane + Nanobone). The Cone Beam Computed Tomography Fusion technique was utilized to assess crestal and horizontal bone changes after five months of the surgical procedure.
Background: Preeclampsia is one of the three leading causes of worldwide maternal mortality. Oxidative stress-mediated endothelial damage is expected to be an ultimate common mechanism in the pathophysiology of preeclampsia. The role of bioamines is also well-established in the induction of preeclampsia.

Study Design: Single institution, retrospective chart review.
Methods: All patients who underwent microlaryngoscopic KTP or BL laser excision of early glottic carcinoma from 2018 to the present day with at least 1-year follow-up were included.
This paper presents a generic analytical framework tailored for surrogate safety measures (SSMs) that is versatile across various highway geometries, capable of encompassing vehicle dynamics of differing dimensionality and fidelity, and suitable for dynamic, real-world environments. The framework incorporates a generic vehicle movement model, accommodating a spectrum of scenarios with varying degrees of complexity and dimensionality, facilitating the estimation of future vehicle trajectory evolution. It establishes a generic mathematical criterion to denote potential collisions, characterized by the spatial overlap between a vehicle and any other entity.

Methods: The quasi-experimental study was conducted at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Mayo Hospital, Lahore, Pakistan, from July 5, 2019, to December 31, 2021, and comprised patients of either gender aged 20-50 years who presented with 2-column or 3-column fractures of proximal tibia classified according to the 3-column classification system after being diagnosed using radiographs and three-dimensional computed tomography scan. Knee function, union and complications, like neural, vascular, infection, delayed union, nonunion, malunion and implant failure, were evaluated.
Objective: Dysphagia is multifactorial in unilateral vocal fold immobility (UVFI). Severe dysphagia could indicate greater functional deficits in UVFI. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the association of dysphagia with the need for surgical voice restoration in patients with UVFI.

In patients with node-negative (N0) MIBC, the benefit of elective whole-pelvis concurrent chemoradiation (WP-CCR) compared to bladder-only (BO )-CCR has not been demonstrated. Using real-world data from the National Cancer Database (NCDB ), we sought to compare the overall survival (OS ) between BO-CCR and WP-CCR for MIBC.
