Introduction: The Guglielmi detachable coil (GDC) 360 degrees, a new complex shaped bare platinum coil, became available in Europe for aneurysm treatment in September 2005. The purpose of this study was to assess the feasibility and safety of selective embolization of intracranial aneurysms with the GDC 360 degrees in 52 consecutive patients.

The ophtalmoplegia may be due to several lesions and the diagnosis is made by imaging modalities. We report the case of a giant aneurysm of the wright intracavernous internal carotid artery revealed by painful ophtalmoplegia with subarachnoid haemorrhage. The diagnosis was made by magnetic resonance imaging and angiography.
