The ethanolic (80 %), methanolic (80 %) and aqueous decoction (100 % distilled water) of whole plant of Linn (Indian Sorrel) was evaluated for its anti-microbial and antioxidant properties by methods. Methanolic (80 %) and ethanolic (80 %) decoctions showed significant antibacterial property against , , and bacterial strains. In comparison to Chloramphenicol (C30) against bacteria, 80 % ethanolic decoctions showed significant effect, among the decoctions.

We describe a generalized formalism, addressing the fundamental problem of reflection and transmission of complex optical waves at a plane dielectric interface. Our formalism involves the application of generalized operator matrices to the incident constituent plane-wave fields to obtain the reflected and transmitted fields. This formalism, though physically equivalent to Fresnel formalism, has greater mathematical elegance and computational efficiency as compared to the latter.
