Simultaneous occurrence of hormonally treated adenocarcinoma of the prostate and a carcinoid has been described before. The pathogenesis of this coincidence is largely unclear; however, androgen deprivation therapy might play a key role in neuroendocrine differentiation of adenocarcinoma cells.
