- This study aimed to assess how the duration of exposure to eugenol-based temporary restorative materials affects the bond strength of different self-etching adhesives to dentin, specifically over 24 hours, 7 days, and 14 days.
- Forty extracted human teeth were prepared and divided into groups that tested noneugenol cement and eugenol cement for varying time intervals before applying adhesive systems.
- Results indicated that 24-hour exposure to eugenol significantly weakened bond strength, but longer exposure durations (7 and 14 days) did not show any further reduction in bond strength for both two-step and one-step self-etch adhesives.
