It's often observed that psychiatric comorbidities coexist in patients suffering from chronic pain. Methods: An electronic search was performed using five major databases: including PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar, Web of Science, and PsycINFO. keywords such as kratom, Mitragyna speciosa, mania, psychosis, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective, case report, and case series.
Objective: This study aimed to explore the relationship between vitamin D deficiency and comorbid heart disease in adult inpatients with mood disorders (depressive and bipolar disorders).
Methods: A cross-sectional investigation was carried out employing the nationwide inpatient dataset, which encompassed 910,561 adult inpatients aged 18 to 50 years diagnosed with depressive and bipolar disorders. Additionally, the sample was categorized based on the presence of comorbid heart disease.

Corticosteroids are commonly used for pain management and inflammatory conditions but can cause neuropsychiatric complications ranging from anxiety to severe mood and psychotic symptoms. These complications can occur shortly after steroid treatment begins or at any point during therapy, and even after treatment has stopped. We present three cases of corticosteroid-induced psychosis in patients being treated for pain.

Early intervention with medical and surgical therapy can help effectively treat the condition and prevent adverse outcomes such as catatonia.
