Salivary levels of specialized pro-resolving lipid mediators as indicators of periodontal health/disease status.

Aim: This cross-sectional case-control study aimed to determine if salivary levels of lipoxin A4 (LXA4), protectin D1 (PD1), resolvin E1 (RvE1) and maresin 1 (MaR1) might constitute a reflection of periodontal health/disease status.

Materials And Methods: One hundred and two periodontitis patients and 61 healthy controls were recruited. Periodontal clinical status was determined by criteria based on full-mouth clinico-radiographical data.
