Purpose: Adrenal vein sampling (AVS) is used to lateralise and differentiate unilateral from bilateral aldosterone production in primary aldosteronism. The adrenal venous samples are standardised to a peripheral or low inferior vena cava (IVC) sample and compared. It is unknown whether the location of the non-adrenal sample affects the results.

We thus reviewed the existing literature on this topic to assess the feasibility of TEVAR in elderly patients with severe thoracic aortic pathologies.
Methods: We identified all original research studies that assessed TEVAR in elderly patients published up to 2023.
The proliferative capacity of mammalian cardiomyocytes diminishes shortly after birth. In contrast, adult zebrafish and neonatal mice can regenerate cardiac tissues, highlighting new potential therapeutic avenues. Different factors have been found to promote cardiomyocyte proliferation in zebrafish and neonatal mice; these include maintenance of mononuclear and diploid cardiomyocytes and upregulation of the proto-oncogene c-Myc.
