The PIPER WEEKEND study. Children's and adults satisfaction regarding paediatric pain in Italian Emergency Department.

Background: Despite pain being a crucial aspect of urgent-emergency care, the attention of healthcare workers towards this symptom in the Emergency Department (ED) is still inadequate. The aims of this study were to assess children's and their adults accompanier's satisfaction regarding pain management in Italian ED, considering healthcare workers' attention to the symptom as well as the appropriateness and efficacy of treatments received.

Methods: Questionnaires were administered face-to-face by trained interviewers over the period of one weekend in 29 Italian ED.

Clinical and radiological features driving patient selection for antiangiogenic therapy in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

Background: The use of antiangiogenic therapy in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) requires thorough evaluation of patient characteristics in order to avoid potential safety issues, particularly pulmonary haemorrhage (PH). The aim of this consensus by a panel of experts was to identify important criteria for the selection of patients with NSCLC who would benefit from antiangiogenic therapy.

Methods: Radiologists and oncologists were selected for the expert panel.

Perception of disease and doctor-patient relationship experienced by patients with psoriasis: a questionnaire-based study.

Many studies have addressed the impact of psoriasis on quality of life, but few studies have investigated patient perception of the disease or the patient-physician relationship. As with most chronic diseases, improvement in the patient-physician relationship may be important in the proper management of patients with psoriasis. To assess how psoriasis and its treatments are subjectively experienced by patients as well as patient expectations with regard to the patient-physician relationship.
