Background: Prior work has identified intraoperative and postoperative coping strategies among surgeons and has demonstrated surgical errors to have a significant impact on patient outcomes and physicians. Little research has considered which coping strategies are most common among surgeons and if there exist coping strategy differences among sex or training level.
Methods: An electronic survey was distributed to surgical faculty and trainees at 3 institutions.
The interest in maintenance therapy for patients with advanced cancers has been rapidly growing. Maintenance therapy is a useful strategy that may strengthen results of induction therapy thus extending survival and preserving the quality of life (QoL) with less toxicity. Maintenance also represents a suitable setting to investigate novel agents.

HER2 expression remains an important biomarker to lead the addition of trastuzumab to first-line systemic chemotherapy in unresectable or metastatic gastroesophageal adenocarcinoma.

The aim of this study was to assess whether clinical evaluation of malnutrition based on these parameters is sufficient to predict complications after colorectal cancer surgery.

Recently, it was proposed that the f_{2}(1270) is a molecular state made from the attractive interaction of two ρ mesons. Such a state would be expected to decay strongly to final states with charged pions due to the dominant decay ρ→π^{+}π^{-}, whereas decay to two neutral pions would likely be suppressed.

Non-metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (nmCRPC) has been clinically delineated. In this setting, three drugs have been approved in high-risk disease: apalutamide, enzalutamide and darolutamide.

These forces can activate several biochemical pathways and trigger diverse cellular responses by mechano-sensation, such as differentiation, division, migration and apoptosis. Assessing the mechano-responses of cells in living organisms requires tools to apply controlled local forces within biological tissues.

A first measurement of the longitudinal beam spin asymmetry A_{LU} in the semi-inclusive electroproduction of pairs of charged pions is reported. A_{LU} is a higher-twist observable and offers the cleanest access to the nucleon twist-3 parton distribution function e(x). Data have been collected in the Hall-B at Jefferson Lab by impinging a 5.

However, adherence to ART is still challenging in developing countries such as Ethiopia. The study, therefore, aimed to assess adherence and its associated factors among HIV-positive patients on ART in southern Ethiopia in 2020.

Conclusion: Excellent 12-month clinical and imaging outcomes, with substantial improvements in the Western Ontario Shoulder Index and the Rowe score in the first consecutive patients who underwent this original technical variant of dynamic anterior stabilization and the surgical pearls and pitfalls are described in detail.
Background: Previous studies have suggested that evening intake of benzodiazepine affects blood pressure (BP) and/or heart rate (HR) in healthy and hypertensive subjects. The aim of this study was to compare the effect of chronic oral administration of alprazolam and lorazepam as hypnotics on ambulatory BP and HR in patients with mild hypertension.
Methods: Consecutive outpatients of both sexes with newly diagnosed, never-treated mild hypertension were randomized, after a 4-week placebo run-in period, to receive alprazolam 0.
Background: A coronavirus pandemic has reached all over the world. It is a highly contagious virus spreading from human to human by respiratory droplet infection and close contact. Applying preventive measures is very important in tackling the spread of the disease since there is no curative antiviral drug.

Accurate preoperative lesion localization is mandatory to obtain adequate oncological and cosmetic results. Image guidance assures the precision requested for this purpose.

The aim was to assess whether pulmonary vascular thrombosis (PVT) is due to recurrent thromboembolism from peripheral deep vein thrombosis or to local inflammatory endothelial damage, with a superimposed thrombotic late complication.
Design: Observational study.
Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is one of the most frequent causes of mortality in the western world. v-raf murine sarcoma viral oncogene homolog B (BRAF) is a member of the Raf kinase family and plays a critical role in cellular growth, proliferation, and differentiation through the mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway. The incidence of BRAF mutations in NSCLC is low, accounting for 0-3% of all cases of lung cancer.

This article is supplemented by a series of high-quality clinical images that are available in Figs S1-S11. The principles of this technique are to excise the rectal prolapse and improve structural support of the pelvic floor.

Conversion to open represents a hard endpoint for minimally invasive surgery (MIS) and is associated with worse outcomes when compared to MIS or even traditional open procedures.
Methods: All adult patients who underwent either laparoscopic or robotic elective colectomy from 2013 to 2018 as reported in the American College of Surgeons Quality Improvement Program (ACS-NSQIP) database were included.

Periodontitis represents a major problem for patients, since it is not possible to eliminate the bacteria that are responsible for this pathology with a pharmacological treatment. The present study included forty-four patients with periodontitis, who had undergone disinfection via photodynamic therapy (PDT) using a laser source having a 635 nm wavelength associated with a photoactivable substance (methylene blue). Clinical assessment of plaque index (PI), bleeding on probing (BOP), probing depth (PD), calculus index (CI), gingival recession (REC) and clinical attachment level (CAL) were recorded at base line, 1 month (4 weeks) after treatment and again 3 months (12 weeks) after treatment, while site radiography (RX) and microbiological test (MT) were recorded at base line and 3 months (12 weeks) after treatment.

Methods: A single-institution prospective study was performed in patients with histological diagnosis of invasive breast cancer, eligible for NAC, and who were to undergo surgery in our Hospital. Imaging examinations with ABVS, HHUS and CE-MRI were performed at diagnosis (basal time) and after 3 months of chemotherapy (middle time).
Background: Tuberculosis, which is an infectious disease, is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in developing countries. Ethiopia is facing high tuberculosis burdens. Even if it is preventable and curable, individuals' KAP towards the disease is one of the bottlenecks in decreasing the disease burdens.
