Obesity is a major public health problem that is associated with serious comorbidities and premature mortality. Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the major cause of morbidity and mortality associated with obesity. View Article and Find Full Text PDFA 74-year-old male was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Medical Center following acute respiratory failure secondary to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) viral pneumonia. The patient had significant comorbidities, including a history of lung and esophageal cancer status-post resection, cerebrovascular accident with neurological deficits, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and peripheral vascular disease. The patient was in septic shock and respiratory failure on admission requiring intubation and mechanical ventilation.

Three types of right-sided aortic arches are described and classified based on the arrangement of the aortic arch vessels, the presence or absence of congenital heart abnormalities, the relationship of the aortic arch to the trachea and esophagus, as well as the presence or absence of a complete or incomplete vascular ring. On review of the existing literature, 31 case reports were found with a spectrum of clinical presentation sand outcomes.
