Yolkin, an egg yolk immunoregulatory protein, stimulates the humoral but inhibits the cellular immune response in adult mice. The aim of this investigation was to evaluate the effects of yolkin administration on the immune response using a model of juvenile, i.e.

Here, we investigated effects of yolkin on the humoral and cellular immune response in mice, phenotype of cells from lymphoid organs and function of innate immunity cells. In vitro studies included effects of yolkin on mitogen-induced thymocyte proliferation, percentage of CD19 cells in bone marrow cells culture, expression of signaling molecules in Jurkat cells, interleukin 2 receptor (IL-2R) subunits in WEHI 231 cells and susceptibility of these cells to anti-Ig-induced cell death.

Absolute configurations of stereogenic centers of γ-bromo-δ-lactones () were assigned based on X-ray analysis; configurations of δ-bromo-γ-lactones () and δ-bromo-γ-lactones () were determined based on mechanism of bromolactonization.

Canine lymphoma and osteosarcoma have a high mortality rate and need more effective therapeutic approaches. In this study, the anti-proliferative and pro-apoptotic effects of BA and BT were investigated in canine T-cell lymphoma (CL-1), canine B-cell lymphoma (CLBL-1) and canine osteosarcoma (D-17) cell lines.

Methods: Propentofylline (3 mg/kg) was administered orally to 8-week-old Balb/c mice, once or six times at 12-h intervals. The lymphocyte subsets, regulatory T cells, IL-5 and TNF levels were determined 12 h and 24 h after a single dose or after the sixth dose of the drug in non-immunized mice.

Due to its relatively easy synthesis, isoxazole ring has been as an object of interest for chemists and pharmacologists from research groups all over the world. Its chemical modifications include both connection of isoxazole with other aromatic, heteroaromatic or non aromatic rings and substitution with different alkyl groups. Thanks to their usually low cytotoxicity, isoxazole derivatives are still popular scaffolds for the development of new agents with variable biological activities, such as antimicrobial, antiviral, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, anticonvulsant or anti-diabetic properties.
