Article Synopsis
  • - The study aimed to assess the effectiveness of the Acromegaly Disease Activity Tool (ACRODAT) in enhancing patient-centered management of acromegaly through improved communication between doctors and simulated patients (SPs).
  • - Analysis of online consultations revealed that conversations were primarily focused on specific acromegaly issues, with less attention given to comorbidities; shared decision-making was notably lacking, as only about 18.3% of SPs were invited to participate actively.
  • - Overall, the findings indicated that ACRODAT did not significantly improve the quality of patient management discussions, suggesting a need for better integration of patient involvement and comorbidity considerations in acromegaly treatment.
