Schinus essential oils were tentatively identified by GC×GC/TOFMS, which revealed a greater number of compounds than previously reported. Eighty-six, seventy-two, and eighty-eight components were identified in Schinus lentiscifolius, Schinus molle and Schinus terebinthifolius essential oils, respectively. Compound separation due to D selectivity was observed.

Context: Baccharis psiadioides (Less.) Joch. Müller (Asteraceae) is considered as a producer of bioactive essential oils and is used in south Brazilian folk medicine for its proprieties as stimulant, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory and as an antidote for snake bites.
