Objectives: Efforts to understand the factors influencing the uptake of reproductive, maternal, newborn, child health and nutrition (RMNCH&N) services in high disease burden low-resource settings have often focused on face-to-face surveys or direct observations of service delivery. Increasing access to mobile phones has led to growing interest in phone surveys as a rapid, low-cost alternatives to face-to-face surveys. We assess determinants of RMNCH&N knowledge among pregnant women with access to phones and examine the reliability of alternative modalities of survey delivery.

Article Synopsis
  • Osteoarthritis (OA) affects both the bone and cartilage, and this study examines changes in these tissues through surgically (ACLT) and chemically (MIA) induced OA in rabbits using micro-CT and histology.
  • Thirty rabbits were split into two groups to analyze the effects on subchondral bones and cartilage over 12 weeks post-induction, with specific attention to bone micro-architecture.
  • The results showed contrasting bone remodeling: the surgical group had increased bone volume and thickness, while the chemical group experienced bone loss and more severe cartilage damage, highlighting different progression pathways and potential treatment approaches.

Background And Purpose: Radiation-related heart disease (RRHD) can occur many decades after thoracic radiotherapy for Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) or childhood cancer (CC). To quantify the likely risk of RRHD for patients treated today, dose-response relationships derived from patients treated in previous decades are used. Publications presenting these dose-response relationships usually include estimates of uncertainties in the risks but ignore the effect of uncertainties in the reconstructed cardiac doses.
