Clinical Interprofessional Education in Inpatient Pharmacy: Findings From a Secondary Analysis of a Scoping Review.

Objectives: Clinical interprofessional education (IPE) is defined as learning that occurs within clinical learning environments such as hospitals, primary care clinics, and long-term care facilities where learners collaborate to deliver care to real patients. The objective of this secondary analysis of a scoping review is to identify, characterize, and summarize evidence from the published literature regarding clinical IPE for pharmacy learners in the inpatient setting.

Findings: PubMed, CINAHL, and Scopus databases were searched for clinical IPE articles that met the following inclusion criteria: ≥ 2 health professions, ≥ 2 learner groups, and involvement of real patients/patient care.

A self-monitoring wellbeing screening methodology for keyworkers, 'My Personal Wellbeing', using an integrative wellbeing model.

Background: The detrimental impact of Covid-19 has led to an urgent need to support the wellbeing of UK National Health Service and care workers. This research develops an online diary to support the wellbeing of staff in public healthcare in real-time, allowing the exploration of population wellbeing and pro-active responses to issues identified.

Methods: The diary was co-produced by NHS and care stakeholders and university researchers.

Improving Prescribing for Otitis Media in a Pediatric Emergency Unit: A Quality Improvement Initiative.

Unlabelled: Acute otitis media (AOM) is a commonly overtreated pediatric diagnosis. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends shorter antibiotic courses and wait-and-see prescriptions (WSPs) for healthy children with mild-to-moderate AOM. Still, clinicians do not consistently prescribe these in pediatric emergency units (EUs).

Moral injury and well-being in essential workers during the COVID-19 pandemic: local survey findings.

Background: Essential workers have faced many difficult situations working during the pandemic. Staff may feel that they, or other people, have acted wrongly and be distressed by this. This represents moral injury, which has been linked with significant mental ill health.

Background: Successive governments have placed service users' experiences at the heart of mental health services delivery and development. However, little is known about service users' experiences of assessments and there is some evidence that assessments can cause harm.

Background: The field of health information management (HIM) focuses on the protection and management of health information from a variety of sources. The American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) Council for Excellence in Education (CEE) determines the needed skills and competencies for this field. AHIMA's HIM curricula competencies are divided into several domains among the associate, undergraduate, and graduate levels.

Context.—: Quality measures are a cornerstone in measuring physicians' performance within the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' Quality Payment Program (QPP). Clinicians' performance on quality measures and other categories within the QPP determines Medicare part B payment adjustments.

A paradigm shift: relationships in trauma-informed mental health services.

Unlabelled: Trauma-informed approaches emerged partly in response to research demonstrating that trauma is widespread across society, that it is highly correlated with mental health and that this is a costly public health issue. The fundamental shift in providing support using a trauma-informed approach is to move from thinking 'What is wrong with you?' to considering 'What happened to you?'. This article, authored by trauma survivors and service providers, describes trauma-informed approaches to mental healthcare, why they are needed and how barriers can be overcome so that they can be implemented as an organisational change process.

Child abuse and neglect are strongly associated with many subsequent mental health problems. This review summarizes the research on how adult mental health services respond when child abuse or neglect become known. MEDLINE, PsycINFO, and Scopus were searched for studies with rates of responding in various ways to child abuse and neglect by mental health professionals.

Amount of Genetics Education is Low Among Didactic Programs in Dietetics.

Nutritional genomics is a growing area of research. Research has shown registered dietitian nutritionists (RDNs) have limited knowledge of genetics. Limited research is available regarding how didactic programs in dietetics (DPDs) meet the genetics knowledge requirement of the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND®).

Do adult mental health services identify child abuse and neglect? A systematic review.

Child abuse and neglect play a causal role in many mental health problems. Knowing whether users of mental health services were abused or neglected as children could be considered essential for developing comprehensive formulations and effective treatment plans. In the present study we report the findings of a systematic review, using independent searches of three databases designed to discover how often mental health staff find out whether their clients were abused or neglected as children.

Sexual violence and abuse and the care programme approach.

In 2008 it became policy that all those on the care programme approach were assessed for sexual violence/abuse. The implementation of this policy was assessed 8 years on. The findings of a survey and data request to Health and Social Care Information Centre are disappointing.

The Care Programme Approach, sexual violence and clinical practice in mental health.

Introduction: Research in Sexual Assault Referral Centres has shown that 40% of those attending are known to mental health services. The question we posed in this study was to what extent do mental health services know about this group? This was a pertinent question to ask as in 2008 the Department of Health (DH) amended the Care Programme Approach (CPA) to include a question on sexual abuse/violence as part of the overall assessment.

Aims: To assess the extent to which Mental health Trusts were implementing DH guidance on the CPA in relation to assessment of sexual violence and abuse.

A Compassion-Focused Approach to Working With Someone Diagnosed With Schizophrenia.

This case report is a shared, compassion-focused therapy account between a therapist and someone with a 20-year history of schizophrenia. It shows the usefulness of compassion in facilitating the courage to address the worst symptoms of psychosis. It does this by promoting a mindfulness of mind and emotional regulation.

Modeling pesticide leaching and dissipation in a mediterranean littoral greenhouse.

The one-dimensional chromatographic flow model PEARL was used to simulate the movement of the insecticide imidacloprid and the fungicide procymidone through a greenhouse soil. The model was parametrized using measured and literature values of soil hydrological parameters. Soil water movement and soil temperature were reasonably well described by the model.

A mixed methodology framework for the assessment of the Voluntary Initiative.

The Voluntary Initiative (VI) is a UK programme of measures aimed at reducing the adverse effects of pesticides on the environment. It was initiated in 2001 and will be evaluated during 2006 following a five-year trial period. To assess such a complex scheme, a mixed methodology approach is appropriate, encompassing the assessment of objective deliverables and issues raised by the farming community.

Through normal agricultural use, pesticides may reach environmental water bodies via several routes of entry. Various policies and initiatives exist to reduce the effects of pesticides in the environment. One such initiative in place in the UK is the Voluntary Initiative (VI).

Characterization of the sorption of an anthranilate fungicide in soil using thermal analytical and mineralogical techniques.

The sorption of pesticides to soil particles has implications for their distribution and fate in the soil environment. A batch equilibrium technique was used to investigate sorption of the fungicide AEC623892 to intact and hydrogen-peroxide-treated whole soils and several particle-size fractions isolated from them. Sorption of AEC623892 to the soil as a whole was low.

Estrogen is essential for normal growth and remodeling of bone. Although the mechanism of estrogen action on bone cells has been widely investigated, the full spectrum of signal transduction pathways activated by estrogen is unknown. In this report, we investigate the effects of the gonadal hormone 17beta-estradiol on the regulation of signal transducer and activator of transcription-1 (Stat1) protein in cultured human fetal osteoblast cells, devoid of the classical estrogen receptors (ERs).

Comparative effects of long-term continuous release of 16 alpha-hydroxyestrone and 17 beta-estradiol on bone, uterus, and serum cholesterol in ovariectomized adult rats.

16Alpha-hydroxyestrone (16alpha-OHE(1)), an endogenous estrogen metabolite, is associated with increased bone density in postmenopausal women. This study was designed to evaluate the long-term activity of this metabolite on bone, uterus, and serum cholesterol in an animal model for postmenopausal bone loss. A preliminary dose-response study performed in weanling rats determined 2000 microg/kg/day to be the optimal dose of 16alpha-OHE(1) for studying estrogenic effect on bone.
