Giant conjunctival cysts, though rare, can cause significant discomfort and functional impairment due to their size as well as their potential for rupture and recurrence. We report the case of a 51-year-old female who presented with a recurrent giant conjunctival cyst in her left eye, experiencing considerable discomfort and pain upon eye movement. The cyst, located in the left eye, had previously recurred after surgical excision, though visual acuity remained 20/20 bilaterally.

C-C Chemokine Receptor 7 (CCR7) mediates T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) invasion of the central nervous system (CNS) mediated by chemotactic migration to C-C chemokine ligand 19 (CCL19). To determine if a CCL19 antagonist, CCL19, could inhibit CCR7-induced chemotaxis and signaling via CCL19 but not CCL21, we used transwell migration and Ca mobilization signaling assays. We found that in response to CCL19, human T-ALL cells employ β2 integrins to invade human brain microvascular endothelial cell monolayers.

Two-dimensional (2D) titanium carbide MXene (TiCT) has attracted significant attention due to its combination of properties and great promise for various applications. The size of the 2D sheets is a critical parameter affecting multiple properties of assembled films, fibers and 3D structures. The increased lateral size of MXene flakes can benefit not only their assemblies by improving the interflake contacts and alignment but also fundamental studies at the individual flake level, allowing for facile patterning and investigation of intrinsic physical properties of MXenes.

Two-dimensional transition metal carbides, nitrides, and carbonitrides, collectively known as MXenes, are finding numerous applications in many different areas, including optoelectronics and photonics, but there is limited information about their intrinsic photoresponse. In this study, we investigated the visible and near-infrared range photoresponse of TiCT , the most popular MXene material to date. Despite the recent advances in bottom-up synthesis of different kinds of atomically precise graphene nanoribbons (GNRs) with very diverse physical properties, the translation of these GNRs into electronic devices remains challenging. Among other factors, the electronic characterization of GNRs is hampered by their complex synthesis that often requires custom-made organic precursors and the need for their transfer to dielectric substrates compatible with the conventional device fabrication procedures. In this paper, we demonstrate that uniform electrically conductive GNR films can be grown on arbitrary high-temperature-resistant substrates, such as metals, Si/SiO, or silica glasses, by a simple chemical vapor deposition (CVD) approach based on thermal decomposition of commercially available perylenetetracarboxylic dianhydride molecules.

The relationship between numbers of carrot weevil, Listronotus oregonensis (LeConte), oviposition scars and parsley fresh weight and plant mortality was measured in research plots during 1999 and 2000. Fresh weight was measured in one to two cuttings of parsley planted on two planting dates. The average weight declined with increasing numbers of oviposition scars in the later planting in 1999.
