- - In a study involving patients from ICUs between July 2016 and December 2017, it was found that 9.2% of those on mechanical ventilation developed VAP, with similar mortality rates for both VAP and non-VAP patients at various time points.
- - Those with VAP experienced notably longer stays in the ICU and hospital, as well as extended time on ventilation, and inappropriate antimicrobial treatments increased the 28-day mortality rate among these patients.
