Fifty-four patients with steroid-dependent asthma of varying severity during exacerbation were examined to compare the efficacies of urinary melanogen measurement techniques. Jaksch's, Tormelen's methods, and the technique with 2M sulfuric acid were used. The authors provide the results of the treatment with leukinferon for injections of 25 patients with steroid-dependent bronchial asthma. It is the authors' belief that leukinferon for injections may be recommended for introduction into multimodality schedules of the treatment of patients with the above-indicated pathology. The drug is tolerated well, without any phenomena of sensitization, when administered by inhalation in the form of aqueous aerosol in a dose of 10,000 IU/day.
