Impedimetric biosensors represent a powerful and promising tool for studying and monitoring biological processes associated with proteins and can contribute to the development of new approaches in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. The basic principles, analytical methods, and applications of hybrid impedimetric biosensors for express protein detection in biological fluids are described. The advantages of this type of biosensors, such as simplicity and speed of operation, sensitivity and selectivity of analysis, cost-effectiveness, and an ability to be integrated into hybrid microfluidic systems, are demonstrated.

This communication describes a strategy to synthesize stable deep blue FAPbBr quantum dots (QDs) by constructing a matrix structure. Amorphous Ni-based metal halide matrices can stabilize QDs from both chemical and physical factors, and Ni doping can further enhance their structural stability due to lattice shrinking. Such deep blue QD films exhibit stable X-ray diffraction patterns and photoluminescence even after 245 days of storage.

Perovskite light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs) have demonstrated rapid development during the past decade, whereas the inferior device performance of blue ones impedes the application in full-color display and lighting. Low-dimensional perovskites turn out to be the most promising blue-emitters owing to their superior stability. In this work, a multidentate zwitterionic l-arginine is proposed to achieve blue emission from pure bromide-based perovskites by in situ-forming low-dimensional nanosheets.

Cqd/pedot: PSS composites were prepared via the hydrothermal method from glucose carbon quantum dots (CQDs) and an aqueous solution of PEDOT:PSS conducting polymer and their electrical and optical properties were investigated. The morphology and structure of these samples were investigated by AFM, SEM, EDX, and EBSD. It was found that the CQDs and CQD/PEDOT:PSS composites had a globular structure with globule sizes of ~50-300 nm depending on the concentration of PEDOT:PSS in these composites.

Changes in surface energy and electrical conductivity of polyimide (PI)-based nanocomposite films filled with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) induced by UV exposure are gaining considerable interest in microelectronic, aeronautical, and aerospace applications. However, the underlying mechanism of PI photochemistry and oxidation reactions induced by UV irradiation upon the surface in the presence of CNTs is still not clear. Here, we probed the interplay between CNTs and PIs under UV exposure in the surface properties of CNT/PI nanocomposite films.

We have investigated the covalent conjugation of aminated multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTNH₂)s with Oxidized Regenerated Cellulose (ORC) in order to enhance the hemostatic effect. The MWCNT-NH₂s were prepared by functionalization of pristine MWCNTs (pMWCNTs) using amine groups. Neat ORC gauze and MWCNT-NH₂s were reacted using glutamic acid as cross linking bridge.

To study the transport properties of individual helical polyacetylene (PA) fibers, we developed a method to extract a single fiber from tightly entangled ropes of helical PA bulk film. After a few minutes of sonication of a piece of helical PA bulk film in an organic solution containing surfactant, a droplet of solution is deposited on the pre-pattened electrode under argon atmosphere. AFM images show that extracted helical PA fibers are typically 10 mum in length and 100-200 nm in diameter.
