Introduction: Walch type B2 has biconcave glenoid with posterior erosion, bone loss and humeral head subluxation. This leads to decreased glenohumeral contact area and increased contact pressure. During total shoulder arthroplasty(TSA), uncorrected retroversion causes eccentric loading and failure of glenoid component.

Design: Overview of systematic reviews.
Data Sources: A search was performed with no restrictions to date of publication and language in the following databases: EBSCO, AMED, CINAHL, SPORTDiscus, EMBASE, Cochrane, LILACS, MEDLINE, PEDro, Scielo, SCOPUS and Web of Knowledge.
Background: Carpometacarpal joint dislocation is an uncommon injury that is at risk of being overlooked on initial presentation. Dislocation in a volar direction is rare, with a number of case reports published in the literature.
Case Report: We report a case of volar dislocation at our institution, and review the application of two reported radiographic signs of carpometacarpal dislocation to volar dislocation.

The development of scaffolds and templates is an essential aspect of tissue engineering. We show that thick (>0.5 mm) vertically aligned carbon nanotube films, made by chemical vapour deposition, can be used as biocompatible substrates for the directional alignment of mouse muscle cells where the cells grow on the exposed sides of the films.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFOsteonecrosis or avascular necrosis (AVN) of the hip is a progressive disease mainly affecting adults in their third, fourth or fifth decade of life. Studies into the natural history of the disease suggest that femoral head collapse occurs within 2-3 yrs with associated degenerative changes and at that stage arthroplasty is the most reliable treatment option. Therefore prevention of femoral head collapse is highly desirable in this young patient group.

The microscopic structure and macroscopic properties of the gel can be modulated by changing the concentration of the components, altering their molecular structures, or tuning their relative molar ratio. In the latter case, there is a complete change in the morphology of the gel that has a direct impact on its macroscopic properties, specifically its gel-sol transition temperature.
