Colletotrichum gloeosporioides sensu lato causing deep soft tissue mycosis following a penetrating injury.

Colletotrichum species have been rarely implicated in human disease. We describe a case of deep soft tissue mycosis following a penetrating injury with a lemon tree thorn. Direct Blankophor BA (Bayer) stain from intraoperative tissue showed fungal elements.
