The atmospheric environment is formed under the influence of local and distant sources as a result of horizontal and vertical transport. In the present work, microbiological analysis of 604 samples of atmospheric aerosol collected in the period from September 2020 to September 2023 at four sites differing in anthropogenic load, located in Novosibirsk and the region, was carried out. Day and night aerosol samples were collected during 12 h every two weeks by filtration using Sartorius reinforced Teflon membranes, then sown on a set of nutrient media.

The study explored the effects of transcutaneous electrical spinal cord stimulation (tES) on postural control. Subjects were divided into field-dependent (FD) and field-independent (FI) groups according to their cognitive style. FD subjects use an exteroceptive afferent stream for spatial orientation, while FI subjects use an interoceptive stream.

[Diagnosis of choroidal nevus following multiple intravitreal anti-VEGF injections (case study)].

This article describes a clinical case of a female patient with choroidal nevus, who was previously diagnosed in another clinic with "subretinal neovascular membrane as a result of central serous chorioretinopathy" and subsequently underwent multiple intravitreal anti-VEGF injections. Based on the analysis of OCT angiography images, the macular changes in this case were interpreted as a polypoidal form of neovascularization in a patient with subfoveolar choroidal nevus.

[Rare observation of petrositis complicated by parapharyngeal abscess in an 8-year-old patient].

A clinical case of diagnosis and treatment of an 8-year-old patient with bilateral acute suppurative otitis media (ASOM) complicated by left mastoiditis and petrositis is presented. By itself, such a rare complication of ASOM as petrositis manifested itself not in the form of the classic Gradenigo triad, but as a parapharyngeal abscess (PPA), due to the destruction of the lower wall of the temporal bone pyramid. Complications arose as a result of contact and hematogenous pathways for the spread of the infection, which debuted in the middle ear cavities 1 month before the patient was admitted to the hospital.

Complementary medicine in Germany: a multi-centre cross-sectional survey on the usage by and the needs of patients hospitalized in university medical centers.

Background: The results of recent surveys indicate that more than 50% of the German population has experience with complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) or uses CAM regularly. This study investigated the CAM usage and CAM-related needs of hospitalized patients at university medical centres in the state of Baden-Württemberg, Germany.

Methods: A multi-centre, paper-based, pseudonymous survey was carried out by the members of the Academic Centre for Complementary and Integrative Medicine.

Objective: Findings from recent transcriptome analyses of the synovium of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) have revealed that 15-fold expanded HLA-DR+CD90+ synovial fibroblasts potentially act as key mediators of inflammation. The reasons for the expansion of HLA-DR+CD90+ synovial fibroblasts are unclear, but genetic signatures indicate that interferon-γ (IFNγ) plays a central role in the generation of this fibroblast subset. The present study was undertaken to investigate the generation, function and therapeutically intended blockage of HLA-DR+CD90+ synovial fibroblasts.

Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is a variant of primary immunodeficiency in which inhibition of antibody production is formed due to disorders of intercellular interaction affecting cellular elements of both innate and adaptive immune responses. A feature of CVID is the late start and variability of clinical minifestation. These arguments determine the purpose of the study: to identify the dynamics of changes in the cellular parameters of the adaptive and innate immune response depending on the duration and severity of the infectious manifestation of CVID.

Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Metabolites of Bacterial Strains Bacillus thuringiensis against Human Influenza Virus A/Aichi/2/68 (H3N2) In Vitro and In Vivo.

The morphological and physiological characteristics of Bacillus thuringiensis strains were analyzed and conditions for obtaining culture fluid with maximum yield of secreted RNases were determined. Zymographic analysis showed that culture fluid of B. thuringiensis strains along with low-molecular-weight (15-20 kDa) RNases contained enzymes with a molecular weight ~55 kDa and their content depended on the duration and conditions of culturing.

Study of Antiviral Activity of Metabolites of a New Serratia species K-57 Strain.

The results of studies of a newly isolated Serratia species K-57 strain are presented. The strain is characterized by antiviral activity towards human influenza A/Aichi/2/68/H3N2, vaccinia, mouse smallpox, and herpes simplex-2 viruses. The detected characteristics of the strain, including the data on activities on nucleolytic enzymes, recommend it for the development of therapeutic and preventive antiviral drugs.
