The combined effects of transcutaneous electrical stimulation (tES) of the spinal cord and affective sound stimulation on postural control were investigated to elucidate the involvement of spinal networks in the maintenance of vertical stability. Healthy volunteers (n = 27) underwent tES and sound stimulation separately and combined quasi-randomly. All participants were field-dependent; i.

In the present work, microbiological analysis of 604 samples of atmospheric aerosol collected in the period from September 2020 to September 2023 at four sites differing in anthropogenic load, located in Novosibirsk and the region, was carried out. Day and night aerosol samples were collected during 12 h every two weeks by filtration using Sartorius reinforced Teflon membranes, then sown on a set of nutrient media.

Subjects were divided into field-dependent (FD) and field-independent (FI) groups according to their cognitive style. FD subjects use an exteroceptive afferent stream for spatial orientation, while FI subjects use an interoceptive stream.

This article describes a clinical case of a female patient with choroidal nevus, who was previously diagnosed in another clinic with "subretinal neovascular membrane as a result of central serous chorioretinopathy" and subsequently underwent multiple intravitreal anti-VEGF injections. Based on the analysis of OCT angiography images, the macular changes in this case were interpreted as a polypoidal form of neovascularization in a patient with subfoveolar choroidal nevus.

FcγRIIIa (CD16) is a risk factor in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). We aimed at determining the presence of CD16-activating sICs in RA and control diseases.

It hydrolyzes penicillins and cephalosporins of early generations. Some of the emerging TEM-1 variants with one or several amino acid substitutions have even broader substrate specificity and resistance to known covalent inhibitors.

In recent years, a new non-contact study method has been developed - anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT), which allows the formation of three-dimensional images of the lens and provides more detailed information about its structure and morphology.
Purpose: This study uses optical coherence tomography method to analyze the risks of developing changes in the posterior lens capsule in patients after IVI of an anti-angiogenic drug.
Transcutaneous electrical stimulation of the spinal cord is used to restore locomotion and body weight support in patients with severe motor disorders. We studied the effects of this non-invasive stimulation on postural control in healthy subjects. Stimulation at the L1-L2 vertebrae was performed to activate the extensor muscles of the lower limbs.

Spider mites (Acari: Tetranychidae) are dangerous pests of agricultural and ornamental crops, the most economically significant of them belonging to the genera Tetranychus, Eutetranychus, Oligonychus and Panonychus. The expansion of the distribution areas, the increased harmfulness and dangerous status of certain species in the family Tetranychidae and their invasion of new regions pose a serious threat to the phytosanitary status of agro- and biocenoses. Various approaches to acarofauna species diagnosis determine a rather diverse range of currently existing methods generally described in this review.

Auditory localization plays an essential role in various tasks, including spatial orientation, locomotion, attention and memory. Optimization of experimental routine is important for preliminary assessment of the subject's sound localization ability. In the present study, a new quick technique for estimating the relative minimum audible distance (RMAD) using sound images is introduced.

A clinical case of diagnosis and treatment of an 8-year-old patient with bilateral acute suppurative otitis media (ASOM) complicated by left mastoiditis and petrositis is presented. By itself, such a rare complication of ASOM as petrositis manifested itself not in the form of the classic Gradenigo triad, but as a parapharyngeal abscess (PPA), due to the destruction of the lower wall of the temporal bone pyramid. Complications arose as a result of contact and hematogenous pathways for the spread of the infection, which debuted in the middle ear cavities 1 month before the patient was admitted to the hospital.

Extensive experimental thermochemical studies of these compounds were carried out, including vapor pressure measurements, combustion and differential scanning calorimetry. These data were evaluated using empirical, semi-empirical and quantum chemical methods.

Numerous Gram-negative bacteria have already become resistant to the most widely used class of antibacterial drugs, β-lactams. One of the main mechanisms is inactivation of β-lactam antibiotics by bacterial β-lactamases.

Recent studies forecast that many ectothermic animals, especially aquatic stenotherms, may not be able to thrive or even survive predicted climate change. These projections, however, generally do not call much attention to the role of behavior, an essential thermoregulatory mechanism of many ectotherms. Here we characterize species-specific locomotor and respiratory responses to acute ambient warming in two highly stenothermic Antarctic Notothenioid fishes, one of which (Chaenocephalus aceratus) lacks hemoglobin and appears to be less tolerant to thermal stress as compared to the other (Notothenia coriiceps), which expresses hemoglobin.

This study investigated the CAM usage and CAM-related needs of hospitalized patients at university medical centres in the state of Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
Methods: A multi-centre, paper-based, pseudonymous survey was carried out by the members of the Academic Centre for Complementary and Integrative Medicine.
Objective: Findings from recent transcriptome analyses of the synovium of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) have revealed that 15-fold expanded HLA-DR+CD90+ synovial fibroblasts potentially act as key mediators of inflammation. The reasons for the expansion of HLA-DR+CD90+ synovial fibroblasts are unclear, but genetic signatures indicate that interferon-γ (IFNγ) plays a central role in the generation of this fibroblast subset. The present study was undertaken to investigate the generation, function and therapeutically intended blockage of HLA-DR+CD90+ synovial fibroblasts.

A feature of CVID is the late start and variability of clinical minifestation. These arguments determine the purpose of the study: to identify the dynamics of changes in the cellular parameters of the adaptive and innate immune response depending on the duration and severity of the infectious manifestation of CVID.

Zymographic analysis showed that culture fluid of B. thuringiensis strains along with low-molecular-weight (15-20 kDa) RNases contained enzymes with a molecular weight ~55 kDa and their content depended on the duration and conditions of culturing.

The results of studies of a newly isolated Serratia species K-57 strain are presented. The strain is characterized by antiviral activity towards human influenza A/Aichi/2/68/H3N2, vaccinia, mouse smallpox, and herpes simplex-2 viruses. The detected characteristics of the strain, including the data on activities on nucleolytic enzymes, recommend it for the development of therapeutic and preventive antiviral drugs.

Therefore, it is necessary to assess the hazard to humans, both from individual microorganisms which are present in atmospheric bioaerosols as well as from their pool. An approach for determining the hazard of bacteria and yeasts found in atmospheric bioaerosols for humans has previously been proposed.
