Ultrasound-guided approach to surgery for nodal recurrence following lateral neck dissection for differentiated thyroid carcinoma. A single institution experience.

Introduction: Total thyroidectomy (TT) and central neck dissection (CND) had a significant effect on the reduction of local recurrence compared with TT alone. Lateral Neck Dissection (LND) was performed in all the cases with therapeutic intent. The suspicion of nodal recurrence is provided by the appearance of one or more enlarged nodes in the central and/or laterocervical compartment during the follow up period.

Can robotic gastric bypass be considered a valid alternative to laparoscopy? Our early experience and literature review.

Background: Robotic bariatric surgery serves as an alternative to laparoscopy. The technology provides the surgeon with an accurate three-dimensional view, allowing complex maneuvers while maintaining full control of the operating room.

Hypothesis: We report our experience with this innovative surgery compared with laparoscopy during Roux-en-Y gastric bypass to demonstrate its safety and feasibility.
