Introduction: Although pre/pro/postbiotics have become more prevalent in dermatologic and cosmetic fields, the mode of action when topically applied is largely unknown. A multi-omic approach was applied to decipher the impact of the skincare products with pre/postbiotics on skin microbiome and metabolome.
Methods: Subjects with dry skin applied a body wash and body lotion with or without pre/postbiotics for 6 weeks.

Background: The Geometric Compensation Technique (GCT) and the Split Reduction Technique (SRT) enables breast conserving surgery (BCS) in selected patients with breast cancer initially candidates to mastectomy.
Methods: Observational study of patients with breast cancer who underwent GCT consecutively treated. Evaluated retrospectively: indications, clinical characteristics, surgical features and recurrences.
Unlabelled: Patients with inflammatory conditions are at high risk for cardiovascular (CV) disease. Despite such elevated risk, their CV risk factors are suboptimally managed.
Objective: To evaluate the effect of a pharmacist-led intervention on CV risk in patients with inflammatory conditions.
Objective: To generate a new body mass index curve of reference values and ranges for body mass index and weight gain during pregnancy and to compare the new curve and weight gain ranges with the currently used references.
Methods: A prospective observational study was conducted with a total of 5,656 weight and body mass index measurements in 641 women with single pregnancy who attended their first prenatal visit before 12 weeks. All the women were over 18 years old and had no medical conditions that would influence body mass index.
In October 2013, Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals Foundation Trust set up an academy for all new healthcare assistants, to enable them to develop with the knowledge and skills to deliver compassionate and safe care. HCAs attend the academy before working in clinical practice. They complete knowledge packs in line with national minimum training standards during their probationary period.

This article describes the implementation of a preceptorship course in The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The course is based on the core dimensions of the NHS Knowledge and Skills Framework and has received academic accreditation from Northumbria University.

To prevent and control a national outbreak, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) conducts measures based on the ecology of avian influenza viruses. To prevent an outbreak in the United States, the USDA conducts surveillance of bird populations, restrictions on bird importation, educational outreach, and regulation of agricultural practices, in collaboration with local, state, and federal organizations.
